Club Football Shirts

Post by Friend or fart »

Many years ago, I was taken to task by a Boarder. I criticised the expense of football shirts, plastered by club sponsored logo' s and made from cheap & nasty artificial fibres as opposed to good ole cotton. " Oh no!, these modern products are far superior and absorb sweat & are lighter, blah, blah, blah!"
If said person still reads this Board, he/she might like to read BBC News report hot off the Ether.

I can’t stand that plastic they make the shirts out of. Good old cotton would make me buy one. No danger of me breaking into sweat. Look very poor quality at top prices.

I would agree. It’s all maximum profit over terrible products and even worse working conditions for the workers producing them.

It's weird that football kits aren't made of the same material that athletes use.

I do appreciate that this is a serious thread (and costs some parents £££££ that they can ill-afford) but the team shirts should be made of a weak fabric- when the opponent grabs a handful then it tears and wouldn’t impede play - but could then be a straight yellow card.

Is it that bad trying to get a seat on the Central Line these days?

I usually walk to the ground.

Castore are well known for low quality, there has been loads of errors with other club shirts having errors, wrong tags and other strange things, they seem to have no quality control let alone you think the shirts they produce for a top football team would be checked and checked again

There is something sad about grown men wearing football shirts. Best to leave them to the kids.

With all due respect to anyone, who pays £60 for a 'cheapo' football shirt, you've got more money than sense.

Indecent exposure laws are taken seriously there. I would well suggest that he wears something in addition to a shirt.

You'll be lucky at that level the standard shirt will be £80 and then the "player version" £125 and that's all without printing
