Discounted Hospitality

Post by Cheshunto »

A fair number of us complained recently about the big price increase for Hospitality this season at Orient.
I’ve heard from a few fellow Gallery season ticket holders that numbers have been down for the home games so far this season probably due to the hefty hike in prices.
Now it appears the club are offering a “ 3 for 2 offer “ for the next three home games, ie Shrewsbury, Lincoln and Reading.

Personally I still think it’s expensive and maybe it was a mistake to increase the price so much.

I hope numbers continue to dwindle and they put it down to a more realistic price.

What with the kids for a quid deal as well, seems like they're anticipating a fair dip in numbers for the Lincoln game.

Whoever’s idea it was to increase the price by around 100% should hold their hands up and admit they got it wrong.
Maybe Mark Devlin was responsible, I don’t know, but it was a mistake.

Combine that with the bar issue post match and I think it has killed the positive atmosphere up in the gallery.

What's the bar issue?

I'm guessing losing home games by 3 and 4 goals is also having an impact on the atmosphere this season compared to last.

The bar issue is that other than Gallery ticket holders, fans are now not allowed in the Gallery bar after games.
This has apparently upset many fans that used to frequent the bar after games, however I understand that there were a few incidents which prompted the ban.

I could see this happening. I think the players were probably fed up with getting hassled by the same people every home game and this year with results not ass positive it could be worse. Still if you pay the money you can go up there

What were the incidents?

Nah, players shouldn't have to mingle with fans after a game. Not at all.

The price is just far too high for the offering, we're in a cost living crisis too

Think the problem is more that some people just pester the life out of players week after week to have the same pics taken, in same bar, with the same kids, just for social media purposes.
It must get really tiresome after the first 20 pics. and have your family & friends with you

Years ago I think the players had a small players lounge / bar over in the East Stand
I can fully understand the players not wanting to be constantly pestered by some of the “ Super Fans “

They did but it was tiny, I’m sure that there is somewhere in the west away from supporters they could go.

Some fans sitting near me were saying that they got a call from the club last week trying to persuade them to buy the hospitality 3 for 2 offer .
Seems like they have reduced the restaurant prices for future games.
