Fancied a laugh so I read your comment, see if you can comprehend this, I’ve been an O’S supporter probably longer than you were probably thought of. You and your little gang members sit like vultures at your key boards waiting to jump on the least truthful and thoughtful things some say about the club. Personally I’ve said good and truthful things imo and that’s what they are,my opinions just as yours are. Now if you can tell me if any thing I say next is wrong then I’ll hold my hands up which is more than you or the other bash street gang on here would do. Currently we are in the bottom 4. We have let in far more goals than we have scored. We have a very leaky defence,we dont possess a decent forward who looks like scoring, we pick up more cards than a poker game we have just lost to Stevenage who by even your so called knowledge of football we should be beating with our so called resources be thrashing week in week out,who incidentally we couldn’t beat last season as well. We couldn’t manage to beat a league two side last night with a full strength side. Now if you can tell me as a ST holder why I should be jumping for joy, then I’ll hold my hands up like I said. The decline in our fortunes has been very steep. Looking in as fans, how can anyone not be surprised and worried! RW has lots of goodwill from last season but he needs to steady the team and results soon, or else we may well be playing in L2 next season. ML is also in focus after a summer of recruitment

Your really ranting now - I have been a season ticket holder for 44 years. Where were you last year when we were doing well hardly a peep from you except the odd post suggesting we were going to blow it. Now we are finding our feet in a higher league you are all over what we should be doing to rectify things and sacking off Wellens. You think last night was a full strength side with Eight changes?Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 10:08 amTop of the JES wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 9:43 amSo by Gang members you mean the majority on this board who chose not to accept your little cliques negative ramblings that you often choose to post as “fact” . Since when did Cooper (debut) Pegram and Sanders feature in our full strength starting eleven.
Be nice to have a prolific striker but we haven’t and RW is working with what we have the squad still a bit unbalanced but we’ve spent our budget it is what it is. Anyway try not to get too worked up not good for your blood pressure just try not to post your negative opinions as fact and I will ignore you and you can do the same.

Re: Wellens gone by Christmas
You have to give the club some slack we have recruited well but the amount of injuries and illness has been unprecedented losing two forwards long term the week before the season kicks off would test any club. Once we have a settled side things will pick up keep the faith.Reflecto wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 10:52 am The decline in our fortunes has been very steep. I have never understood this "well I've been a season ticket holder for 30/40/50/112 years" willy-waving schtick.
As if in some way, being old, and being born ages and ages ago requires some sort of congratulatory acknowledgement, and validates the opinion of the person doing the willy-waving.
It's pretty much near irrelevant.

Re: Wellens gone by Christmas
I assume this thread is a jest? Should not tempt fate? If any him of a campaign for him to go he may walk. Be careful what you wish for I say. We lose him we could go into that sinking spiral downwards mentally and in the league back where we came from. We need to regroup and take a hard look at ourselves. I think with our current squad and limitations we should play safe and within our capabilities. Playing safe is paramount, play a tight game, play football without giving the ball away . We need ultimately to be very disciplined and that should come from RW for a start. We are not going to win the league , at best a look in for play offs and we need to realise this now. Make every game count from this moment.Type high wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 9:02 amI was thinking more about you gone by Christmas, that would be a far better resultThe Reverend wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 9:52 pm Can anyone else see this happening?
Poor start to the season is edging closer to a spiral of losses and the drain on morale that comes with it.
Discipline is clearly an issue both on the pitch and on the sidelines. With senior pros being dropped then bought back into the side then possibly dropped again (I’m looking at you Mr Beckles) there’s danger of losing the dressing room as well.
It’s a recipe for disaster if things don’t change soon.
For clarity, I’m not saying that I want this to happen (nor do thank that it would necessarily be a wise thing) but I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility.
Things change quickly in football.

It was in response to being told I wasn't around as long as another poster I'm proud to have supported this club for 55 years - I think what it confirms is that a lot of people have seen this all before, you seem to have a very low opinion of older people just remember you'll be there one day.Scuba Diver wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 12:06 pm I have never understood this "well I've been a season ticket holder for 30/40/50/112 years" willy-waving schtick.

I wasn't popping at your personally fella, please be assured- I'd just seen this a couple of times on this thread, and it seems to be a message board 'go-to' for the older generation; as if being old = being right.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 12:41 pmIt was in response to being told I wasn't around as long as another poster I'm proud to have supported this club for 55 years - I think what it confirms is that a lot of people have seen this all before, you seem to have a very low opinion of older people just remember you'll be there one day.Scuba Diver wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 12:06 pm I have never understood this "well I've been a season ticket holder for 30/40/50/112 years" willy-waving schtick.

I'm far from young myself (53), and have followed the club for 40 years, but I would not drop that into a conversation in the hope that those facts in some way give my opinion further weight or validation.
In fact, if longevity (of support) forms a basis of any opinion or argument I might have, then I've probably got a poor argument.
Notwithstanding - you are clearly a very loyal fan and I loved how you put you were proud to support the club.

Bit unfair on Pigott imho. Not fully fit when he joined according to RW and has been played somewhat out of position in a team that’s struggling with injuries and lack of confidence. Too early to judge him yet I think.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 11:46 pm TBF our recruitment looks good . Only Pigott looks suspect . I’m not naive enough to think that the board won’t act if things don’t improve, certainly by the New Year. Wellens knows this too, of course.
I’m fairly sure that we will improve and do ok this season, but I’m also more sure that the board are more ruthless than many think.
