Re: Vigs gone
Poor Vigs, he's nowhere near the first team, and probably never will be. Such a waste. Unless he goes out on loan in January, he's not play football all season.

Re: Vigs gone
He would surely have known he was going to be Burnley's Scott Carson. There to train, maybe bench for cup games. Well paid for it though.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 9:14 pm Poor Vigs, he's nowhere near the first team, and probably never will be. Such a waste. We’ve been over this countless times, ffs.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 9:14 pm Poor Vigs, he's nowhere near the first team, and probably never will be. Such a waste. Unless he goes out on loan in January, he's not play football all season.
He’s there for two years. He’s 29. He’ll get excellent coaching and support for those two years, and while he’ll never play a first team game he’ll come away from Burnley as a much better goalkeeper, and with a few hundred thousand in the bank.
That makes perfect sense to me.

Re: Vigs gone
Not in the squad for Burnley's EFL game at Forest, Muric starts and Trafford on the bench. If he's not playing in these games when is he going to?

Re: Vigs gone
He needs to go out on loan, surely as a footballer, your career and playing week in week out is more important than your weekly pay cheque.
Such a shame after what was his best season as a professional GK

He is a big personality, I can't see him coping well with not being the main keeper, let alone the third choice

Re: Vigs gone
Is he even third choice. As somebody else has already mentioned it’s about the money . He’s earning as much as he can while he can . Good luck to him.essexfootball wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 7:49 pm He is a big personality, I can't see him coping well with not being the main keeper, let alone the third choice

He's not going to (barring an injury crisis).WhetstoneO wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 7:27 pm Not in the squad for Burnley's EFL game at Forest, Muric starts and Trafford on the bench. If he's not playing in these games when is he going to?
As he and everyone else expected.

Re: Vigs gone
Carson is like 50 years old. Vigs is 29. Should be hitting the prime of his career as a GK. To spend those years not even on the bench is a shame. I get it, he’s getting paid. But surely a Championship club would have taken him on a decent wage? Burnley are hardly Man City rich, how much are they actually paying a 4th choice gk?

Re: Vigs gone
Carson is 37 - he's been at City since he was 33.
Can't believe we're doing this again. Vigs is only 29, which means he can do 18 months/2 years there on incredible money, receive great coaching, then get first team football in the Championship on not quite so decent money.
He wasn't going to walk straight into anyone's Championship side straight from a L2 side.

No but he’d at least have had a chance at making the bench.Max Fowler wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 9:46 pm Carson is 37 - he's been at City since he was 33.

I’m not so sure he’ll be able to waltz into a championship side in 2 years time. Why would they sign a guy whose last action was a decent season in L2 2-3 years ago? You say he wouldn’t get into one now, what makes you think he’ll be able to when he leaves Burnley?
I’m slightly confused as to why people are talking about Burnley as if they are Real Madrid. He’ll be on a load more than he was at Orient but I seriously doubt he’ll be on much more than a championship club would pay.

Re: Vigs gone
I thought someone on here said Vigs was getting 12.5k a week.
If Burnley are paying him 30-40k a week thst would be mind boggling

As a standy/emergency goalkeep I doubt he's on more than 6k.ContrifibulatoryFred wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 10:56 pm I thought someone on here said Vigs was getting 12.5k a week.

Definitely on a lot more than 6k. He’ll be counting towards home grown quotas as well.

He may well go out on loan in January or next season once Burnley have had a chance to work with him on a daily basis for a prolonged period of time and assessed where he's at.

Hardly what you'd call life changing money as desribed by Richie, 4 times that & a million salary is.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 11:39 pmAs a standy/emergency goalkeep I doubt he's on more than 6k.ContrifibulatoryFred wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 10:56 pm I thought someone on here said Vigs was getting 12.5k a week.

Re: Vigs gone
Fair enough. He deserves to be playing at least somewhere. Rotting away as Burnley 4th choice seems like a sad life for a talented keeper. Even if he is getting paid well for it.Max Fowler wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 6:43 amWe are doing all this again then? The Reverend wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 10:03 pmNo but he’d at least have had a chance at making the bench.Max Fowler wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 9:46 pm Carson is 37 - he's been at City since he was 33.

Re: Vigs gone
Be surprised if he is on anywhere near that sort of money but obviously on a lot more than he was at the Os and no, I dont feel at all sorry for him !
He will most likely get his chances to play in the minor cup games and /or going out on loan !
