I don't think 3 CBs is a full time measure, just something we had to do to get George on the pitch (who can't press) when Piggot isn't fit enough to press.

If Thompson isn’t going to be available (is he ever) then think we will need a CB

I remember a quote that he's a good personality around the team so almost a coach by this point perhaps. Maybe a loan around January once recovered to allow him to get match time and sort a move for summer as surely he won't get another contract with us?
