Re: Sol Brynn
Agree Solomon, The Reverend is def not an O’s fan or understands football in general, if they did, they would have watched our reserve GK, Howes is his name, unexpectedly, have to step up and take his place in the first team, earlier than he would have expected, and put in a MOM performance on Sat.
Yes he is raw, yes he will make a few mistakes, but until Brynn returns, Howes is our clubs GK, and we as fans need to get behind our players instead of being disrespectful towards them.
The Reverend just shows themself to be the person they are, no integrity, and an embarrassment, by showing no respect for a young Orient player who wears the shirt, by calling them howlers instead of Howes.
Keep doing what your doing Howes, real Orient fans back you

Re: Sol Brynn
Watched both keepers,Brynn at Charlton and Howes against Portsmouth and for me Brynn is the better keeper not because he let in less goals but his anticipation and command of his area was far better than Howes imo. That’s not to say Howes is a bad keeper and you can’t control the defenders in front of you if there having a bad day, which for the Portsmouth and Wycombe games they most certainly were. Confidence is a big factor in football especially if your a striker or goalkeeper and Saturdays game against Blackpool, keeping a clean sheet will do him no harm whatsoever but having said that I think Richie will put Brynn straight back in when available?

No but it does prove he's a capable keeper with the potential to get better .The Reverend wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 7:47 amA goalie has one decent game and suddenly he’s the new Gordon Banks?Stan1972 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 10:51 pm Agree Solomon, The Reverend is def not an O’s fan or understands football in general, if they did, they would have watched our reserve GK, Howes is his name, unexpectedly, have to step up and take his place in the first team, earlier than he would have expected, and put in a MOM performance on Sat.

Re: Sol Brynn
You would expect Brynn to be the better keeper being on loan from Middlesborough compared to a keeper just up from the National League . That's why Brynn is our first choice keeper but Howes has the potential to improve . He proved at Blackpool he's capable and I think he'll improve with more experience .Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 9:44 am Watched both keepers,Brynn at Charlton and Howes against Portsmouth and for me Brynn is the better keeper not because he let in less goals but his anticipation and command of his area was far better than Howes imo. Howes has been thrown in at the deep end to cover for Brynn whilst he is injured, and whilst he is not the new Gordon Banks, he needs support from his team and the fans in the stands.
Have a think about that.

You think that a professional footballer will play better if I only post positive comments about them on an unofficial message board that the player almost certainly never actually reads?Stan1972 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 11:00 amThe point I am making here, is get behind your team and your players, instead of being disrespectful. The Reverend wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 7:47 amA goalie has one decent game and suddenly he’s the new Gordon Banks?Stan1972 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 10:51 pm Agree Solomon, The Reverend is def not an O’s fan or understands football in general, if they did, they would have watched our reserve GK, Howes is his name, unexpectedly, have to step up and take his place in the first team, earlier than he would have expected, and put in a MOM performance on Sat.

Why don’t you have a little think about that?
This bizarre idea that we must only ever say positive things about players on a message board is completely juvenile. If you don’t like differing opinions on a players ability then maybe an internet message board isn’t for you.

Re: Sol Brynn
Let's be clear.
Howes is here purely as cover. No one expected him to be starting games at this stage. He is a National League standard keeper, at best, who fitted our requirements - older head than the other young boys in that position, willing to sit on the bench, cheap. I assume that our coaching team also believe he has the ability to develop further over a period of time with full time coaching.
Being thrown in like he has been is just unfortunate for both him and the team. Hopefully Saturday's clean sheet will boost his - and the defences - confidence for the next few games until Brynn is back.

I’m an undercover West Ham fan who set up an account on a Leyton Orient message board and waited 18 months for the perfect moment to strike which, as everyone knows, is when a new keeper flaps about and let’s 9 goals in his first 3 games.
And would have gotten away with it too if it wasn’t for you meddling alias boarders!
Of all the things that I thought would be my downfall on this board I really didn’t think it would be some non-league reserve keeper who everyone will have forgotten about in 3 months time when he is relegated back to being a bench warmer.
