Its €8m - so its under £7m so we could still be in for a fair whack if true. Alzate had his chance under Potter but has stalled. Watched him a few times and seemed hesitant to play positive football - almost if he was scared to make a mistake.

This time it certainly has. Let us pray this proposed deal does come off, a win win deal for all parties involved. OMG. Brighton continue to keep the cash till ticking, quite amazing the amount of money they are getting in with all these transfer deals and from what I can remember, they even got compensation from Chelsea when Potter and his coaching staff left Brighton to join them.

I doubt it'd be structured so that all payment was up front and to be honest, it's a bit disappointing that this is the size of fee we're talking about given the trajectory he seemed to be on a few years ago at a club that are incredible at selling. But an extra 500k-1m would cover the extra money Wellens has suggested we're going to bring forward from January's reserve budget so hopefully gives us some funds to recruit now, and then later in the season once we have a better sense of where the real 'quality' issues lie.

Being older than 23 does not mean a club does not get solidarity contribution payments!! Just like if Harry Kane would next season move to a new club from Bayern for x million euros... Orient would AGAIN be due solidarity contribution... and the same would apply if Alzate moves from his new club - say Sevilla - to a third club next season for x million euros!! So Orient are due a part of the solidarity from the Kane move... and again should Alzate move from Brighton for a transfer involving a fee.

But Kane having been on loan at our club for x months... and being under 23 at the time... the club automatically appears on the player passport and all clubs participating in the players career up until 23 are due a part of the 5% solidarity for each transfer involving a transfer fee. Same way as Leicester, Norwich, Millwall and even Arsenal are all due money from the Kane transfer....

Had never heard of this before so looked it up, only relevant to international transfers so not hugely common. Kane went for 100m 5% is 5m split over 11 years. The first 4 years are worth half the subsequent years, so we should get over 500k from it!

Just tried it on transfermarkts ready reckoner. Computer says no. He was owned and developed by the Hotspots so we get nothing.

As I mentioned yesterday: 5% solidarity contribution is payable for any transfer that involves a transfer fee! An electronic player passport is generated as soon as a transfer takes place and the national FA of that country will upload all clubs previously associated with the players training. Solidarity is payable up until the age of 23. There is also Training Compensation which potentially involves much higher amounts for a club like Leyton Orient than a share of the 5% solidarity would bring in. However, that is based on the training catergory of the club and Orient has a lower grade than Premier league teams for example. This is payable when a club offers a player his first professional contract. Anyway independent of all of this... Orient will be receiving a share of the solidarity of the Kane transfer through the FIFA clearing house but that is proving to take longer than usual since being introduced last year.... how do I know? I work in this area....

Ok we shall see if the Alzate transfer does come about and in the mean time, from what has been said before, still a slice of the Harry Kane transfer fee to come to the club.

Lingy has stated in a very early interview around the time when Bonne was sold to QPR that in all cases when selling players a 20% sell on fee is included .He actually mentioned Alzate in that interview
