Away fans for today's game
Even though the team have lost 4 games on the trot (well of course it isn't the end of the world) it must be very difficult to motivate yourself to make the long schlep to Blackpool today.
Matchday tickets and travel have been booked in advance (at a guess around £100).
Some may think....I have paid my money so I will go.
Others may feel....I am not going to bother (and who would blame them) and they could watch it streaming.(oh the wonder of a VPN)
They will still be O's fans and are entitled to change one's mind isn't a crime.
You do not get a medal for going.
If anybody stayed at home they would not be shot for cowdice
£100 of course is only the part payment for the day---Some may have even booked a hotel room. (yikes!! Just think of the total cost.)
I wonder how many would take notice of the wife when she says "You may as well stay at home and watch the streaming for a mere Tenner"?
To go or not to go--Ah the wonders of the world of football.
We all love the game but we have many differing opinions about it.

How wrong you are my man.
I have bad knees and I no longer go out to watch games ----- I watch the games online-----Money well spent of course (but let's hope for a good result today in the land of the Tower Ballroom.)

Stan1972.......My point is about what do fans do-----It is all explained in my message.
What would you do?
Go on be daring and be reasonable and give me a sensible answer.
Stan you know that you can do it!

Re: Away fans for today's game
If I want to go to an away game I go, if I don’t I stay at home,
I do what I want when I want, and no one can say anything to me to persuade me.
Same as replying to posts, I reply to posts if I feel they are worthy of a response, not just because someone dares me to reply.
In your case, I’ll reply and give you my answer.
But still don’t get your post?

Re: Away fans for today's game
Def not angry baldy, far from it my friend.
Sitting watching the Sweden v Australia game, and choosing to read the forum before I do what I need to do today.
I have more important things in my life to worry and care about, than getting angry over pointless posts on a forum.
Enjoy the game from wherever you’re watching today, whether it be away on the Blackpool terrace with a pie n a pint, 2with your mates, or at home watching the stream with Mrs Baldy.
End of day it doesn’t matter, and no one will judge you, for listening and doing what your wife tells you, by staying at home, paying a £10 and watching The O’s game via the stream.
The money you save, you can take the wife out for dinner tonight instead

Re: Away fans for today's game
Weird original post. You go to games expecting one thing and sometimes coming away with a completely different result. You go to support your team no matter what.
I didn't go to Charlton, Plymouth and Wycombe with the mindset of 'oh well, we'll lose again', far from it.
People want to go, they go....people want to watch the stream, they watch the stream. So what.
All that counts is Orient getting a result, and after Tuesday night I'm quietly optimistic about today

Re: Away fans for today's game
You'd never go football if you were expecting a result unless you support a City, Madrid, Celtic/Rangers etc
Football is about supporting, socialising with your friends, family, tribal, getting behind a cause that will have so many ups and downs, emotions, belonging to a bigger cause, it's why football clubs are so important to that 80 year old bloke whose wife has died, that 42 year old with no wife and kids, the kid with special needs who gets to watch his hero, the woman who is a domestic abuse victim but on Sunday can watch fellow women do the country proud etc, unless you understand sports you will never get what it means to play or support

It's about hope not expectation.essexfootball wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 11:43 am You'd never go football if you were expecting a result unless you support a City, Madrid, Celtic/Rangers etc
