Your post seems to make this out as some sort of joke. I’m sure that was not the intent.

At least the culprit has had his collar felt. Actually the sharp end of a taser. By the unfortunate and brave Old Bill.

So many of these attacks in Leyton lately, Coopers Lane was quite a pleasant road, had a girlfriend who live down there.

That picture shows a van next to the station, looks like the photo was taken from the corner of High Rd and Coopers Lane
Used to be a really old fashioned sports shop there when I was a kid, had loads of antique cricket bats hanging up

Leyton seems to be on the rise for serious crime, that's got to be at least the 4th such incident.

So a Van makes Coopers Lane unpleasant?

On the rise? It's Leyton, not Bishop's Stortford

Out of respect for the officer I won’t explain the meaning of the bigger picture nor disgrace this topic with snide comments.

In no way I’m winding anyone up on this thread
Serious crime has always happened in Leyton (including knife and gun crime) maybe in days gone by it hasn’t being publicised as freely as it can be these days
I’m not condoning the idiots who get involved in this sort of crime and I wish the police officer a speedy recovery but this is not a new kind of crime in Leyton

I’ve spent the majority of my life in and around Leyton and personally I’ve never felt afraid to go out etc👍

I think you will find Estate Agents use the word Vibrant rather than gentrified

I haven’t noticed an uptake in men doffing there top hats when a lady passes them on the High Rd

Once more our glorious IMMODERATOR has egg on his face. Instead of snide comments with perhaps a hidden meaning, can he perhaps explain to us all what exactly " the bigger picture " is ? Does he see himself as our moral guardian? I read the story on the BBC website before seeing this posting. My feelings were 1. Poor cop badly doing a hard job 2 Brave wounded cop then getting the rogue arrested 3 tw*t who carried out the attack now in much bigger trouble than if he had come quietly 4 Knowing where all this took place, presumed the rogue was in transit and not a local 5 Wondering what the tw*t had to hide.
Now I am wondering what Preposterous Joe was going on about, please explain yourself Joe? Have you an issue with our police?

I hope this brave policeman makes a good recovery. It must be such a frightening thing to happen to anyone to be suddenly attacked like this. These violent street attacks with knives and machetes are happening far too often in recent times.

Is the answer that the perp is just a victim of poverty and his own upbringing?

Haven’t seen any photos of the perpetrator but my guess is he wasn’t one of the ‘old school’ residents of the area.

Anyone with a machete in their van is a scumbag. To use it to attack someone is apalling. My thoughts and best wishes are with this brave Officer.

Interesting. Could this be a racist attack too?
