Galbraith is three times the player brown is, he is vastly better footballer, keeps offering and being a pivot

When was the last time we started a season with 3 straight League defeats (4 defeats when we count the Carabao Cup game). :(

Let's look at the positives
1) We scored 2 goals
2) We are not bottom on L1

That's it.

Yeah, we can keep blaming it on the injuries, but the fact is the squad is simply not good enough.
Defensively we are terrible, Al over the place, basic duties of a full back, don’t let wingers get crosses into the box, especially when you have your reserve GK playing, who needs protecting.
Yes we have had a few injuries, but the squad should be good enough to cope and it wasn’t and isn’t.
Totally agree the squad is nowhere near good enough , very thin on quality in replacements in particular our Goalkeepers.
You may have a case but I think and have thought that the so called budget has been spent in the wrong areas. But that’s all water under the bridge now we have to make the best of a bad hand. Thought they played well but simple fact is we have no points on the board🤷‍♀️🙊

As a game it was great. I think O's showed tonight that they will do OK in this league this season. Lots of room for improvement, but some luck going our way would be a big help.

Not quite the same but when promoted in 88/89, we didn’t win in the league until game #6

Thompson is under contract.

You think our vice captain who has been nominated for league 2 team of the year didn’t deserve a contract?

How many goalkeepers do you want? We are not Man United.

Agree on Drinan but he hasn’t played yet. Agyei could be a great signing but hasn’t played yet.

Agree on Ogie, but Turns was preferred.

My point is the squad is down to the bare bones. Unrealistic to think we can keep bringing players in on big money.

Good to score 2 & we are having bad luck but we won't survive in L1 if our defending doesn't improve. I was there on Sat, very poor defensively & we haven't really improved yet.

This idea you can move on senior injury prone pros just like that is childlike. It isn't a video game, no-one is taking Drinan or Thompson off our hands.

We keep him on the bench.
He got injured in the warm up and was taken out of the subs bench. At the moment we don’t have a goalkeeper that commands his area. The defence don’t seem to have any faith in him. The short goal kicks he takes are a farce.

Yes, our manager showing himself up. Probably frustration because he's not sure how to sort this mess out

And Ruel, the player that has many critics on both forums and who G Shaw wrote that he should have been sent out on loan before the season had even started.....scores twice !! Well seems like a bit bit more spirit tonight and word is that Keeper Brynn injury might not have been as badly injured as first thought is good news. Happe sending off is another piece of bad news and could well have cost us some points , but at least we scored tonight ! Beckles lack of form is a big worry and once most of the players are back, his place in the side must surely be in jeopardy. Is it really true that the new forward was injured in the warm up ? If true, well you couldnt make it up could you !!

Might as well have kept Sam Sargeant as the reserve keeper.

1. Ogie was under contract and we got rid of him. Surely we could have offloaded Thompson or sent him out on loan?

2. I didn’t say anything about Beckles, not sure why you bought him up.

3. Signing a non-league standard GK is just plain stupid. I have no idea why we bought that bloke in. Surely it makes more sense to give the youngster (Byrne) a go.

4. Surely the argument you used about Thompson applies to Drinan so not sure how you can agree with me about him but not Thompson

5. Turns & Ogie were both here last season. So we’re still a CB down really

The squad being down to bare bones 3 games into the season cannot simply be down to bad luck. Serious questions need to be asked about our casual approach to pre-season, and whilst we’re at it, who is conducting the medicals on these new players?

Is this true?

We haven't seen enough of Brynn to say whether he's an improvement on Vigoroux - admittedly it isn't likely - but he looked to be a perfectly decent L1 standard replacement.

We haven't seen anything of Agyei to say whether he's an improvement on Smyth - admittedly it isn't likely - but he looked to be a perfectly decent L1 standard replacement.

These were 2 of our 3 best players last season, both of them well above L2 and arguably even above L1 standard, so we were never going to improve on them.

What we have done is make sure our midfield has been upgraded by bringing in Galbraith and Sanders - again we've seen little of them - and upgrade on Kelman with Piggot.

I don't think you can say the squad is weaker. We've just been ridiculously unlucky with injuries.

At the very best the squad is on an equal level with last season (and that’s assuming the big IFS you’ve mentioned above are true - which let’s be honest, we both know isn’t the case).

We also have to factor in that we’re in a division higher now. So players that were good enough for L2 will struggle this season (Beckles being a prime example of this).

Losing Smyth and Vigs was always going to weaken the squad as their replacements were never going to be as good. We have counteracted that by improving other areas - the whole midfield and up front. So yes, I do believe the squad has overall been improved.

Also worth noting that El Miz as of today is a far better player than he was 12 months ago, many others will also have improved after last season.
