Re: Exiles thread - Portsmouth (H)
I’m thinking this is the case. Providing we do sign another forward player we should be okay to achieve our aim over a long season.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 3:58 pm We’re not 2-0 worse than them. sh*t defending and braindead final third passing has let us down. If these are up there with the best teams, we’ll be ok
I think people find it difficult going from constant success to then not being the best over a summer. Everything will settle and we will come out okay in the wash across 46 games.

Re: Exiles thread - Portsmouth (H)
Honestly cannot see where our 1st point will come from?
If we continue to defend like we have been we will continue to concede goals.
Pompey 2-0 up and they are not even that good, we are just that bad.
Maybe this will change with returning players from injuries and 2 new forward attacking players, being signed next week (apparently )

Game wise it’s a tough start, injury wise we’ve been very unlucky to lose Brynn on Friday in training, then to lose James in the warmup today, as well as all the other injuries we’ve had in preseason. I also believe that over the 46 game season, we will be okay, but it’s extremely important that we get behind the team to show our support. When RW looks concerned, then I will be concerned but at this early stage this is not what I see Up the O’s

I beginning to think that the only thing to turn-up, will be relegation!

The problem with this is how it falls into the old adage "they we were better than us in both boxes" which is usually said of sides in relegation troubleHorient wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 4:02 pmI’m thinking this is the case. Doesn't look like Richie changed anything at halftime so it's carrying on the same.

I have managed to get my hands on a supply of extra absorbant Pampers for those that require them. Lowest prices guaranteed.

Re: Exiles thread - Portsmouth (H)
We are 0-3 bad
Very very poor
Our players look scared to have the ball about from El Miz
A lot has been said about lack of attacking threat, but our full backs are getting beaten all the time, hunt and Sweeney very poor

Lot of injuries and a tough start. Ruel is obviously not good enough

Re: Exiles thread - Portsmouth (H)
Before the game I thought about 3-1 to Pompey, well this season is going to be very tough.
As to having pre-season so called ''friendly'' games to get the team ready for the coming season, yes great idea and perhaps we should rethink who we are going to play next season and also check out try to avoid playing on bad and under prepared pitches that end up with causing injuries to the players. Last season we also lost players to injuries in pre-season games, not as bad as this though.

Ouch indeed, the back 4 being this out of their depth wasn't in the script

And many still dreaming of promotion this season, well avoiding relegation is more my aim.
