Re: Frankie Kent
I was under the impression we had a competitive budget and Richie wasn’t going to be left wanting. The whole point of getting promoted so early would be to give them more time to identify the players they wanted not the ones everyone doesn’t. The more time they take the more money they save, it’s the way the club operates

The point I was making is I thought Turns was the CB Richie wanted . Anyway ,how is Richie being left wanting . ? Admittedly there is a question mark over McCauley Bonne and whether we wanted him or not but we seem to have signed everybody else who Richie wanted .Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 10:16 am I was under the impression we had a competitive budget and Richie wasn’t going to be left wanting. Re: Frankie Kent
Ok Red will explain from my point of view. As a coach you need as much time as possible with your squad. New players come in and he should have had more time than any other in the club’s history to work with them. IMO we still need 2CB’s,1 striker and possibly a winger. The club should give him ample time to do this. They haven’t. Instead he will get 1or 2 players in a week or days before the season starts. I more than understand we’re not a rich club but considering all the rhetoric from the end of last season and sell out crowds plus more ST sold than before. That’s what I mean about wantingRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 10:36 amThe point I was making is I thought Turns was the CB Richie wanted . Anyway ,how is Richie being left wanting . ? Re: Frankie Kent
Far more importantly than that Monkey Boy, is getting the right player. Ritchie has said this time and time again. Not just the right quality but the right mentality too. To paraphrase him "when thew first question is about money, I stop listening".
Ritchie ain't moaning about the players and squad he has - and he does not seem to be worried about waiting for the right sort of player to materialise. Ling appears to have done a good job with the acquisitions so far. If Ritchie is happy then so am I.

The Right player is exactly how Richie works. We waited for Idris & he didnt need much coaching .LittleMate wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 11:31 am Far more importantly than that Monkey Boy, is getting the right player. Think coaching individuals is far different from coaching a team, you need more cohesion imo but not going to argue the point on RichieEqualiser0 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 12:06 pmThe Right player is exactly how Richie works. Re: Frankie Kent
I get your concerns but the club ain't panicking and the management are not talking as if deals we wanted to do have eluded us - so I think the club are in a comfortable place.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 12:02 pmFair point littlemate but leaving a bit late to me but I’ll get my coat on this oneLittleMate wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 11:31 am Far more importantly than that Monkey Boy, is getting the right player. Re: Frankie Kent
Ed Turns is training and playing friendlies with Brighton. He knows our system and will fit in straight away. Not sure what we would have gained signing him weeks ago rather than in a few days. Salary saved and if he'd been injured in the last couple of weeks it would have been Brightons problem not ours. Sensible to have waited.

Re: Frankie Kent
RW would not had let Ogie go if he did not have a ready replacement. The window is still open until Sep 1st . A lot of clubs would have looked at their young squad during pre season and then decide which players they want to release on loan and where. He has a quad of 1st team players he can start with so no panic is required at this stage . I am sure he has a few players that he is waiting for their respective teams to releabseMonkey Boy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 10:16 am I was under the impression we had a competitive budget and Richie wasn’t going to be left wanting. Re: Frankie Kent
I have no doubt that they will get someone in but my whole point is to let Richie have a pre season or a couple of weeks to make them gel. Personally think it’s important we get off to a good start straight away as it builds momentum just as last season. We have a tough start being away for the first few games.moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 3:14 pmRW would not had let Ogie go if he did not have a ready replacement. You must either be tuffers or a close friend? Don’t really care it’s just don’t want to put up for this for the next 6 until you go back to school. But if you do have something relevant to contribute on here try to be sensible and grown up
