TBF , this signing wouldn't impress me either but I trust Richie's judgment . Saying that I would still prefer us to sign McCauley Bonne.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 11:13 am Two stat boosting seasons at AFC Wimbledon but otherwise thoroughly underwhelming at this level.

Re: Joe Pigott
Richie said in one of his latest interviews that we were signing a striker and wide man . Can Pigott play out wide on the wing ? If so what side, left or right ?

Re: Joe Pigott
Was just reading an article about him signing with us and apparently he was played as a 9, 10 and out on the left wing (for the final game of last season) at Pompey and Mousinho thought he was brilliant.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 11:35 am Richie said in one of his latest interviews that we were signing a striker and wide man . If he thought he was that brilliant why hasn't he signed him?Loyal_Supporter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 11:39 amWas just reading an article about him signing with us and apparently he was played as a 9, 10 and out on the left wing (for the final game of last season) at Pompey and Mousinho thought he was brilliant.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 11:35 am Richie said in one of his latest interviews that we were signing a striker and wide man . Could not guarantee him the playing time he wanted. They had a chat about it.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 11:48 amIf he thought he was that brilliant why hasn't he signed him?Loyal_Supporter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 11:39 amWas just reading an article about him signing with us and apparently he was played as a 9, 10 and out on the left wing (for the final game of last season) at Pompey and Mousinho thought he was brilliant.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 11:35 am Richie said in one of his latest interviews that we were signing a striker and wide man . Re: Joe Pigott
We're never going to sign a striker coming off the back of a 20 goal season at this level, but his record at Wimbledon is good enough to suggest he could be a decent player for us. It's odd to think we dominated league 2 last year without even a decent striker, so this was always going to be a key one given we'll be likely creating less chances this time around.

Re: Joe Pigott
Good . That’s our new wide man signed now just to sign our new main striker. McCauley Bonne ? Edit, Not forgetting another CB

Re: Joe Pigott
Everything Wellens says implies he's our new no.9. Turns is surely the centre back we're signing, so that leaves one player left which will be the wide man. Getting our business done at a decent speed this summer.

Re: Joe Pigott
Bit underwhelmed but he did score 20 in league one 3 seasons ago and Richie is sure to get the most out of him. Can see us desperately signing a striker in Jan because we can’t score enough in the first few months

You have to remember a lot of these comments are from supporters of Prem clubs who are used to wasting millions on crap players
