"I Will Follow Him" is a popular song that was first recorded in 1961 by Franck Pourcel, as an instrumental titled "Chariot". The song achieved its widest success when it was recorded by American singer Little Peggy March with English lyrics in 1963. The music was written by Franck Pourcel (using the pseudonym J.W. Stole) and Paul Mauriat (using the pseudonym Del Roma).[3] It was adapted by Arthur Altman. The completely new English lyrics were written by Norman Gimbel.
The song is featured at the end of the 1992 film Sister Act, where it was performed by the nuns' chorus for the Pope with Whoopi Goldberg's character as the lead singer. The song peaked at number 53 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart.
There has been loads of versions. Some Religious people have nicked it too. Meaning to follow God? Or Jesus. Peggy March's version is the best. Makes me feel very old dishing out this info!

Yes the the Peggy March version is the one that I remember. I was too young at the time to be buying records, my older sister was the one in the house who used to buy the records !Friend or faux wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 8:14 pm "I Will Follow Him" is a popular song that was first recorded in 1961 by Franck Pourcel, as an instrumental titled "Chariot". It also carries a similarity to CR’s The Young Ones in places. But then Joe Mayo played for us the last time I went to Crystal Palace.
