Think we should give him half a dozen games or so to judge and give him time to settle in. The club have brought in a second keeper just in case as a back up, and don’t forget if a keeper makes a mistake in a game it’s highlighted but say if a defender fails to make a tackle or a midfielder makes a poor pass it’s glossed over more.🙊

Wellens says it’s a striker and wide man coming in. Perhaps you should listen to his interviews.
I do listen to his interviews perhaps you should read what I said carefully “ for me” and yes before you come back with a smart reply I know I’m not Wellens and that was the whole point of my comment 🙊
And it’s the whole point of mine.
Ok jes sorry may of read your post wrong? Do apologise 🙊

All they show of the low divisions on the Saturday night goals round up is goals. Always going to be difficult for goalkeepers and defenders to look good. I'll go on the fact that he was appreciated by the Swindon supporters who saw him for 90 minutes , not 3, every week.
This.

I'm sure someone could come up with a 3 minute horror show of Vig's if they wanted to (3 minutes alone of kicking the ball out?) but that would not tell any of the story of his performances either last year or of his time with us.

In Ritchie we trust.
Very true, all players can make mistakes and and on the other side......can also have their glory moments. Like when you see videos showing forwards best goals, doesn't show all the misses does it !

Also giving away multiple penalties, ignore the fact he saved them afterwards

Enough said. You made a perfectly acceptable post where you merely stated your own opinion regarding the situation of what new forwards would be a good option to bring in, nothing wrong in that !

Let’s just all get behind our New No.1 GK and welcome him with open arms and wish him all the best for the new season.
No need to judge him yet 👍
He obviously has the right credentials needed, and has experience of lower league football for someone so young.
In Simon Royce we trust 💪🏻

Listen to Richies interview last week. Howes is here because he wanted some experience, an older head, amongst the goalkeeping group, not just a bunch of kids. It's a really smart move.

He may well push on and challenge but that's not the expectation.

Never said he wouldn’t push for a place trump and like I said again, let them both settle in and then judge. Hopefully we will have two very good keepers for next season and yes I do listen to his interviews however doesn’t stop people on here having there own opinions?🙊

It should be the expectation because the squad needs competition for every position .

Did anyone expect Byrne to challenge Vigaroux last season?

Possibly not? Would have thought that Wellens had enough time to assess him even though he openly said keeping wasn’t his expertise, there might be one or two others that may suffer the same fate as Sarge,as they were on longer contracts when he arrived. Thompson could be another but I’m guessing ? Looking at the squad now pretty much think most of it is his choosing 🙊

Definitely not.

For some positions/players, you don't have competition, just a first choice with much less able cover in case of injury.

Its good that we now have two goalies who have good experience of men's football. We didn't have that with Sargeant and Byrne. I hope Sam gets a good No1 spot in the NL or just below to get experience - a bit like Howes did.
