I reckon Essex will gualify comfortably , I was at Bexley today watching the one day game , Tunbridge Wells the leage leaders made 298/ 7 from their 50 overs , Bexley made 301 /9 with 3 balls to spare , lovely day with a few beers thrown in , a perfect Saturday ![👍](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f44d.svg)

Re: Essex CCC
Was there. And we threw it away big time. Started off in great style with boundaries all over the place but once the first couple went the team just faded away and it was pitiful to watch in the end. Given our start we should have put this game well beyond the reach of Hampshire.
Hampshire in contrast started in a far more modest fashion and despite the loss of wickets maintained a steady pattern of scoring. In the end steady play won the day.

What's struck me in the T20 is Essex batsmen throwing away their wickets and bowlers unable to bowl in T20 conditions. Other sides have done the opposite to us.

Re: Essex CCC
Tried to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again today, but got over the line on the last ball. Now we sweat on the Somerset vs Kent result to see if we are into the quarter finals of the T20.

Re: Essex CCC
I can, some of our batters are not up to it. Lawrence who we know is going and Pepper who will surely be picked up by a bigger county sooner rather than later were a Class above anyone else we have. Whoever thought of giving Rossington a Three year contract needs to be sacked, he's blocking Buttlemans progress into the first eleven.

Re: Essex CCC
He left Essex because Sussex offered a 3-year contract and Essex would only offer 2 years. Essex supporters would have him back, but at 38, would the management?

Re: Essex CCC
Goes against the current policy of pushing the kids in white ball cricket. Would be a backwards step so Leave well alone methinks
Re: Essex CCC
At 38 he's still better than Rossington who might just score some runs if he was put further down the order.

Re: Essex CCC
I the same way that Rossington is blocking Buttleman developing as a keeper/batter Ravi would be standing in the way of Das or one of the other youngsters coming through it would be a backwards step.

I don't think I've ever seen such large lens on sunglasses worn by a cricketer, as those worn by Harmie tonite.

77-1 after 7 overs and 2 balls later it's 77-3. We are conspiring to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory AGAIN.

Re: Essex CCC
Thick from Walter - need 6.5 an over first ball goes for 6 - five singles gives us eleven off the over and ahead of the game. Not using our heads with Lawrence in playing sensibly we have a chance.
