Considering a big all inclusive to a European destination but irks I have to pay full price for a 2 year old. Can’t afford it so it’s a question of going into debt for a mental break or staying here and getting committed
Must be some 'kids go free' offers about.

Went to Cyprus in April, Kos in June, next on the list is Corfu in July and Skiathos in September that leaves October to book and possibly November.
The joy of being retired.

I came back from 2 weeks on P&O Arvia a few weeks ago, lovely ship but a bit too big.
I hate the hassle of flying and my wife is really a nervous flyer, so we tried a cruise from Southampton about 7 years ago. What a very civil way to travel, pull up in car next to ship, car gets parked, cases on ship and walk through to check in and holiday begins!
No hassle, delays, no sitting cramped on a plane, excellent food and entertainment, whats not to like?

Got two weeks off mid-July.
First off 5 nights in Spain (Almunecar). Spa hotel with loads of fitness stuff too
Back to home (Southend), then off for 3 days in Cornwall including the Orbital gig (Bude), and 2 nights in Newquay, where I just love the beaches.
Then back up to Suffolk (name of the place escapes but I'm informed 1 hour from Colchester).. A mate of mine has got a holiday home for 2 weeks - sounds lush - 5 bedrooms, own swimming pool, tennis court etc etc. 4 nights there, then dash back to London for Pulp (Hammersmith) gig, then 2 days on Southend beach (lucky me!) then back to work.

To say I'm looking forward to it all is understatement. Will probably need another holiday by the end of it, mind..a lot of driving involved but all worth it.

Gonna squeeze a week in Sept in likely Faro as well if got any leave left (!)..

PJ clan off for a few nights in York at the end of the month with BiL and his wife (is she my SiL too? Not sure how it works), nothing planned other than hitting up the Railway Museum, probably the castle and/or walls, me sloping off to do the Racecourse parkrun and hopefully having a bevvy or two in the House of Trembling Madness.

Off tomorrow to a cottage for 3 days and then Reading for 3 days.

A clue as to the location of the cottage:

"Thought you were clever when you lit the fuse

Tore down the House of Commons in your brand-new shoes

Composed a revolutionary symphony

Then went to bed with a charming young thing"

Unless it's the base material, rather than the end product. Distil wine and you get Brandy.
