Re: Russia Watch
Wagner: Russian troops, join us and we will take the Kremlin
Russians: Yeah, we're good thanks.
Wagner: we'll withdraw to avoid bloodshed.

Re: Russia Watch
Brokered a deal for him to 'fall from a window' in Belarus in a few years rather than get bumped off in a Russian jail. Nice.

A game?Milano wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 6:56 am I can't decide if this is real or is part of some game being played out by Putin, Prigozhin and others. There's a faint hope that Putin is ready to call it quits and is looking for scapegoats to fall from windows over the coming months.
However, surely even Russia can't be this disorganised and disfunctional, can it?
Is this a wind-up?

I was thinking along these lines too. He's a dead man walking.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 10:07 pm Brokered a deal for him to 'fall from a window' in Belarus in a few years rather than get bumped off in a Russian jail. Nice.

My thoughts exactly but surely he must knows that might happen . I wonder what safe guards he's put in place because if he hasn't he's an idiot .Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 10:07 pm Brokered a deal for him to 'fall from a window' in Belarus in a few years rather than get bumped off in a Russian jail. Re: Russia Watch
Or perhaps part of an undercover plan by Putin to install him to take over as the next evil dictator of Belarus, nothing would surprise me !
The world is now full of evil dictators and mafia type gangsters in charge of so many countries.

From what we've heard in the media, Prigozhim seems to have all the principles of a premiership football

Re: Russia Watch
A wind up would occur to a dullard l guess. I don't have that much faith in the story as told to we prols, it seems to me that Prigozhin, Putin and other are playing us all in an attempt to position themselves better to wreak destruction upon Ukraine and, by association, NATO and its allies. I just cannot believe Russia is in such chaos. We'll see.....

Re: Russia Watch
BTW... Putin sends strategic and tactical nukes to Belarus, a few days later he agrees to send Progozhin there too after the most bizarre events of the conflict so far? Coincidence?

Re: Russia Watch
Maybe, maybe not. I'm certainly wary of reading too much into anything right now. On the surface it's hard not to see how Putin hasn't been weakened by all this. But the Russian forces are now under central unified command, and not operating independently of each other. That corrects one of their main weaknesses so far.

Where is the news of that, link please !Top of the JES wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 9:48 am Putin has back tracked and now decided he won’t drop charges against the against Wagners leadership for treason.
Putin is eying up taking over Belarus when the ill and aging dictator Aleksandr Lukashenko goes, so perhaps getting the bully boy Wagner mercenary group chief, Yevgeny Prigozhin in the country is all part of the plan to grab the country back into Putins new era ''Soviet Union''

Re: Russia Watch
I've read the same via a few sources, but nothing is confirmed yet. Also, the Telegraph is reporting that the families of Wagner leaders were threatened (and I still can't believe they're using that logo design)

Re: Russia Watch
The Belarusian dictator, Alexander Lukashenko, has emerged as an early beneficiary of the aborted Wagner march on Moscow, but those benefits may not have a long shelf life. Whether or not Lukashenko played quite the enterprising broker’s role described in the statements coming out of the Kremlin and Minsk (and most analysts are sceptical), he has emerged in the Russian press as the hero of the hour, the man who saved Moscow.
That is very much a step up from the part of a frail provisional satrap, which Lukashenko, 68, has played since Vladimir Putin stepped in to save his regime in the wake of apparent election defeat in 2020.

Re: Russia Watch
Prigozhin will not stay in Belarus long, could be off soon fighting another proxy war for Putin in perhaps Africa. Meanwhile he will need to watch his back and employ a TASTER to sample all his food and drink ! Also avoid visits to high rise buildings to avoid the urge to jump out of windows on the top floor !
