Mines coming up in October - joy
Surely the continued interest rate rise is for the rich who made money from inflation to get even more back in interest!

Re: Inflation
It's one great big transfer of wealth from the workers to banks, insurance, hedge funds, oil, gas, weapons, supermarkets etc to fill the hole created by Truss, Brexit, war in Ukraine and the Pandemic.OTF Photography Ltd wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 2:17 pm Mines coming up in October - joy

Re: Inflation
Question stemming from complete ignorance - is it almost better if things get completely f*cked, on the basis that if everyone is f*cked, a solution needs to be found pretty damned quickly?
Whereas if it’s just a bit f*cked, then everyone just struggles on like a frog slowly boiling

Re: Inflation
Except the decline in earnings, public services the NHS, leisure facilities, youth clubs, libraries, benefits, education etc has been a feature of the last 40 years. Civil society has been infected with greed, anger, selfishness and hate. It's all happened gradually and unevenly to the extent that it has been almost normalised.TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 10:50 amThis is my argument for not getting behind Sirkier.CEB wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 10:35 am Question stemming from complete ignorance - is it almost better if things get completely f*cked, on the basis that if everyone is f*cked, a solution needs to be found pretty damned quickly?

So far the minor rebellion instigated by Corbyn and Co was crushed by the right in alliance with the middle class bourgiose liberals who invariably side with the right against socialists. But as the condition of society degenerates further it becomes nastier and they too will pay a horrible price for that.

Re: Inflation
You could always try an EU country, not too far to travel. The good news is their inflation is not as bad as ours. The bad news is as we are no longer EU citizens its harder to get in and they probably don't want us.

Agree. The worst bit was when Corbyn didn’t get to see whether the electorate would vote for his ideals. If only the bourgeoisie had allowed him just one general election

Re: Inflation
But we don't have an informed electorate, only one fed propaganda, lies and spin 24 hours a day.CEB wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 12:10 pm “

Neither do we have a democracy, only a choice of three neo liberal parties run on corruption, graft and lies. All dedicated to maintaining the status quo whilst everything around them crumbles and the sh*t flows to the sea to poison everyone else.
The bourgeoisie tried to wreck his project from the start. It is remarkable at a testament to his doggedness that he did get to test his ideas. Don't forget the substantial ground swell of electoral support he achieved in 2017.
By 2019 the hate campaign and the alliance across the establishment, the corporates, media, Starmer and other Labour rats had done its work.
Re: Inflation
If you believe that people who aren’t as informed should not have their views considered valid, then that’s great news, im very happy to hear that you’ve retired from the trans debate.
Or is it just that you think that your ongoing adherence to vague dreams of revolution makes you better than everyone else?

Where did I say people shouldn't have th3ir views considered?
There isn't a trans debate. Transwomen are women. Willy or not.
Re: Inflation
I mean, that’s you literally debating with your previous expressed opinion on the matter, so good to see you’re as confused as ever on that one.
Re “views” it’s fine - you’re not a fan of democracy and you’re one of those tedious old fools who doesn’t have any actual solutions. But that’s fine, that’s been obvious for a while now. Tories love people like you

Re: Inflation
Explain to me why the democracy we currently have delivers to working class people and how it can be improved. Note - your answer should include reference to the economic system. But use less than 200 words.CEB wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 2:16 pm I mean, that’s you literally debating with your previous expressed opinion on the matter, so good to see you’re as confused as ever on that one.

I would have thought by now that the penny had dropped and it was obvious I have literally no interest in identity politics and the fake culture war the far right manufacture.
Re: Inflation
Why would I explain to you something that I don’t believe?
I don’t think the current system is great, I just find it laughable that fools like you opt out of what democracy we have, in favour of half arsed drunken mumbling of revolution.
Bet you a tenner that in twenty years we still have the same system, and you will have done the square root of f*** all to change it

Re: Inflation
So no solutions then. Figures. What makes you believe I have opted out of democracy. It needs to be broadened in every aspect of life as a step in the move to a socialist society.CEB wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 2:23 pm Why would I explain to you something that I don’t believe?

You don't know what I do to change society. So shut up.
