Vigs gone
Laurence has completed a medical at Burnley. He's not an O's player anymore.
Saw it in a tweet, but can't copy and paste it.
I'll try and find confirmation somewhere else

Re: Vigs gone
Just seen the same on FB via a Burnley fan page.
Prem money too good to resist, fair enough tbh. At least it gives clarity, would prefer if the others confirm their intent sooner rather than later as well.

Re: Vigs gone
If it’s true then who could blame Vigs - going from earning a good living to silly money, even as a bench warmer. Thanks Lozzer and good luck,

Re: Vigs gone
The good thing about Vigs is his proficiency in all aspects of the game We may find a goalie who is a great shot stopper but has poor distribution or great with the ball at his feet but can’t save penalties. It’s going to stand out like a sore thumb if we don’t sign someone that rarely makes a mistake.

Can’t blame him for joining a premiership club. Good luck Vig’s and thanks for everything. At least he hasn’t gone to another League 1 club.

Re: Vigs gone
Arguably the best all round keeper we’ve ever had and probably the best in 20 odd years.
Got to wish him the best and hope he can push for some starts with Burnley

Re: Vigs gone
Good luck to him. Means we need to bring in two goalies now.
Have an unpleasant feeling that Loz is the first domino to fall. Wouldn’t be too shocked if we see Smyth and Beckles go next.
Need a big rebuild this summer otherwise we’re going to do a Forest Green.

Think we only need one tbh. Byrne is a more than capable cover....he's been very good when I've seen him.The Reverend wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 10:16 pm Good luck to him. Means we need to bring in two goalies now.

Doing a Forest Green is what I'm concerned about . OK, we've lost Vigs but what about Beckles , Happe and Smyth . Having not signed their new contracts yet makes me feel there's a lack of commitment .If they are leaving that's OK and I'll wish them all the best.. I just wish they would go now or sign . The club has to get on with building a new squad for League 1 and don't need players stringing them along .

Re: Vigs gone
Even though we all knew it was coming, what a sickener. I don't blame him for jumping at the opportunity but that doesn't make it any easier to take.
Agreed with others above (at least, those not burying their heads in the sand) that this could well be the the first of many departures.
Best of luck Vigs, you'll be missed.

Re: Vigs gone
It's not on the Burnley website yet, and you expect it to be on the Orient website already ? I'm sure we will find out who hasn't signed from Ling updates or similar. Not sure I'm expecting the club to produce an announcement every time someone doesn't accept a new contract and signs elsewhere.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 11:28 pm Vigs is gone and signed for Burnley yet not a peep from the club .

Until players sign contracts , what can be announced , Who are you to demand knowledge of what others plans are with there financial future all because you cant deal with being strung along ? Unlike you to be a willy Red !RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 11:28 pm Vigs is gone and signed for Burnley yet not a peep from the club . Who else is going ?

Half Wits Speaking of Burying Heads in Sand , Losing good players after successful seasons is a thing that has always been a thing , Alan Comfort springs to mind . Where has your head been if you think this does not happen in Football ?

Re: Vigs gone
Sad fact is like many clubs we are a fair way down the ‘food chain’ and couldn’t possibly compete with a Premier League club offering one of our players a massive wage increase. We shouldn’t be too surprised and I’m sure that we can find a decent replacement a bit further down or up the ‘food chain ‘ to replace Vigs.
I have faith that Richie already knows who he wants and will get his man in time.
Vigs won’t be easy to replace but there is plenty of talent out there.
