Re: Coventry v Luton
That game reminded me of us in 2014. Like Orient , Coventry played well on the day but was undone by a penalty kick . I remember how I felt that day so commiserations to Coventry . However congratulations to Luton . National League to Premier League in only nine years is an outstanding achievement .

Yeah it's not really a catch, is it? They can just immediately afford it exactly the same as we would be able to if we ever ended up in the same position.banqo wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 8:30 pmPlus the fact that the game they've just won was worth around £174m!!

Re: Coventry v Luton
I suspect that the new £10 million pound stand will have a smaller capacity than our current East Stand, and will mainly be to provide adequate facilities for TV and journalists, which are currently below Premiership standards. Away fans and most home fans will have to put up with Luton's normal poor facilities.

Kenilworth Road was a dump back in 1970 when I first went there, and it hasn't changed!Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 9:51 pmI suspect that the new £10 million pound stand will have a smaller capacity than our current East Stand, and will mainly be to provide adequate facilities for TV and journalists, which are currently below Premiership standards. Re: Coventry v Luton
Luton has been more successful than you would imagine. It has been in the top league of English football for quite a few years since the 1950's. But has always been a yoyo side. When I was at Primary school, there was a boy in my class who moving to Luton and supported them We were "treated" to quite a few Luton songs, encouraged by out teacher. Luton played Forest in the Cup Final that year.

Re: Coventry v Luton
Do agree it gives the likes of us encouragement. At the time of posting Brighton are 6th, Brentford 9th, Bournemouth 15th, and while I hate the increased disparity between the divisions, there’s so much income in the Premier now from TV rights and sponsorship, top-flight teams are far less reliant on capacity and gates than they were in the past.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 9:09 am If a team like Luton can reach the Premiership surly we as a club can reach the Championship,it must be achievable??? Re: Coventry v Luton
It is achievable because we've already been within touching distance of it back in 2014 . With a little bit of luck that day we would've made it to the Championship .Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 9:09 am If a team like Luton can reach the Premiership surly we as a club can reach the Championship,it must be achievable???
