Yes, he must now be feeling sick he missed one of the greatest nights in Sheffield Wednesdays history . I wonder if he'll now bother to buy a ticket for the final .

Bonkers result.
Was hoping Peterboro went up just so that we had 3 bigger away days but never mind. At least it's local.

Re: Sheffield Wednesday
Wednesday still might not go up. I can't imagine the meltdown on here if we had thrown away a 4 goal lead and the lead in extra time.

I'm sure it will be a similar meltdown at posh and any other club, understandably.Story of O wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 9:13 am Wednesday still might not go up. I can't imagine the meltdown on here if we had thrown away a 4 goal lead and the lead in extra time.
They bottled it.

Re: Sheffield Wednesday
All the textbook stuff of game management that you do, and that Orient under Wellens do so well......Posh did none of them.
Keep it tight, short passes, slowing the tempo right down, taking loads of time at throw ins etc. Absolutely shocking performance

Re: Sheffield Wednesday
Posh supporting son sick as a parrot – we watched on TV.
Posh didn’t turn up second half, first half they showed signs of catching Wednesday on the break, but weren’t interested in trying to score after half time. Cruel for the equaliser to be 8 mins into stoppage time, cruel to lose on pens. When Posh had edged back ahead in extra time, looked a straight red against a Wednesday defender for pulling back a Posh forward who would have been through on goal, ref didn’t even give the free kick, commentators were surprised, forward had no reason to go down, he would have been clean through, but on such decisions outcomes change.
Overall on the night Wednesday deserved it, and Posh aren't ready for promotion. Saw them blow champions Plymouth away at London Road not so long ago, they blow so hot and so cold!

Re: Sheffield Wednesday
Interesting what you say about the second half since Ferguson made two defensive changes at the break, just invited Wednesday onto them more and gave an indication that they were settling for just not losing by 4. Easy to say in hindsight, but clearly not a tactic that worked out.

His moaning about 8 minutes when 6 was shown on the board is great , what goes up on the board is Minimum time & not "Fergie Time " !

Wow, if that's top end League 1 football we might struggle a bit. Depends on what signings we can get in.

Quality on the ball wouldn't be an issue, but the players just seemed a lot quicker and a lot more physical.Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 10:35 am Wow, if that's top end League 1 football we might struggle a bit. Depends on what signings we can get in.

I'm pleased Wednesday won last night and hope they go up via Wembley . I'd rather Wednesday got promoted and were out of the way because next season is going to be tough enough for us as it is .

Re: Sheffield Wednesday
I remember the first 10-15 minutes of our first game back in L2 v Cheltenham, it seemed like they were playing a different sport. Definitely be a step up next year, just depends how long it takes us to adjust.TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 10:40 amQuality on the ball wouldn't be an issue, but the players just seemed a lot quicker and a lot more physical.Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 10:35 am Wow, if that's top end League 1 football we might struggle a bit. What a top supporter and a complete contrast to our young friend . I wonder how he's feeling this morning having been proven right . I wish him and Wednesday the best of luck at Wembley.

Re: Sheffield Wednesday
I've not watched any L1 football this season but if that's the standard, we need a massive change in style and/or personnel to compete at the top end.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 10:47 amI remember the first 10-15 minutes of our first game back in L2 v Cheltenham, it seemed like they were playing a different sport. Wellens Will be prepared , Cheltenham showed us that without a Proper leader we'd struggle .Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 10:47 amI remember the first 10-15 minutes of our first game back in L2 v Cheltenham, it seemed like they were playing a different sport. Re: Sheffield Wednesday
If that’s a yardstick for L1 then it’s definitely a big step up but RW will be prepared
