Would love to know how much UK pump into Eurovision every year, whatever the total, it’s a complete waste of money, especially after last nights event when we are hosting and funding on behalf of Ukraine (who gave us 1 point!!), how much additional money did that cost to host?

Europe hates UK, most points we got at any stage last night was 4 points and that was from Ireland, who you would expect/hope would give us 10-12 points!

Absolute farce and waste of money, do t get me wrong I would still watch every year, but would enjoy better knowing we weren’t throwing money away funding the annual event.

Im not saying UK should have won either, but we were not as bad as 25th out of 26 countries in the night with only 24 points.

Also Finland should have won.

If we are going to keep funding and want to win it, get a recognised artist in, Harry Styles would prob win it for us

Exactly . That's why I hate that show so much . In the old days it used to be a bit of fun with an equal chance of winning . Nowadays it's too politicised
and with the UK having no chance of winning . I reckon we only came second last year due to our support for Ukraine . Of course it was no surprise when Ukraine won with somebody resembling a singing curtain

What a good idea, in fact they should scrap the bbc licence and make them self funding as other tv channels manage to do. Might as well have adverts with all the breaks they have in between their programmes advertising forthcoming shows !

We do well when we enter a decent singer, a good song and put on a strong stage performance. The UK would have won last year were it not for the Ukraine solidarity vote.

This year we had a bland song and the performance on the night was flat. And with such strong competition at a technical level we were going to struggle.

Personally, I liked Finland, Australia, Israel and Czechia. I also liked the Spanish entry, which was a brave choice.

There's a suggestion in other post mortems that, compared to other more successful countries, the BBC does not give its selections a decent chance to succeed, eg by given them live performance opportunities and coaching, or allowing the public to choose, rather than a committee. Sam Ryder last year was an exception, but he's way more talented that the other recent UK entrants.

I always enjoy watching the event, though I miss Wogan's commentary.

Why do you care who wins a competition that you hate?

If you look at the quality of vocals for the other female pop singers of similar age from Israel, Poland and Norway our entry was really weak in comparison. Compare to Sam Ryder's performance last year and the problem is pretty obvious.

Also our staging always seems so lame compared to other countries. Even with Space Man all Sam got was some unfolding bits of metal, must do better.
