Brophy, JMD with McAnuff & Dayton to come back are already wingers. If he decides to go back to 4-4-2 you would need one as back up until the other 2 are fit.
Brophy is known to be unreliable when it comes to his consistency, JMD is better as a number 10 imo, Jobi hasn’t played a minute of pre season and at 38 I don’t think we can rely on him, especially as a winger and Dayton is coming off of two bad injuries and we probably won’t see him until November.

Anyone else?

I agree with you on three of the four counts. In terms of Brophy I don’t think he is “ unreliable “ as you put it, to me it’s more about the persistent use of him on the right side of the field as opposed to him being used as a natural left sided player where he can be more effective.

Yeah I tend to agree. He can sometimes put in a stunning performance and the next game he disappears. But agree he shouldn’t ever be on the right.

Agree, he hasnt had a fair crack at left wing because Jobi was in the team, JE then wanted his wingers to cut inside from the right and then we changed formation. We are wasting a top player.

Brophy is a talented left sided player, needs more of a run in the team to give him some confidence. IMO, his best position is as a left winger but in the formation we play at the moment, Widdowson fills the left wing-back role. so seems more likely he will compete with JMD for the floating role behind the two main strikers. Either that or there seemed to be this tendency in the second part of the season, to often bring him on in the second half ( especially in the last third of the game if we are losing ) as a right wing-back. Brophy seems to perform best when he comes on as an IMPACT player for the second half, can tend to fade a bit when he plays a full game.
