There’s no way of knowing but (since this thread contains a bizarre level of negativity) I should just say that if the plan *did* factor in a pandemic and the death of a good manager, then serious questions need to be asked about the underpinning ethics of such a plan

Re: 6 Year Plan comes to Fruition....Now What?
Normal negative dimshits in the opening posts on this thread, seasons not even over and still questioning T&T, FFS give it a rest and enjoy the fact we have a board of directors, management team and squad that have delivered. I suspect the new forward looking plan will be made general knowledge this summer but tbh for now I'd rather just enjoy our champion winning season and look forward to the summer as it unwinds, it's not something the fans can influence (other than buying season tickets) so I'm not worrying about it, I trust the club management team and they will tells us when its ready to share the clubs communication with supporters has been really good since Travis took over.
It's a mystery to me that even after delivering what they promised people still question T&T and expect RW to walk out on the club at the first opportunity.

This is exactly the Little Leyton Orient mentality that needs to be rooted out of the club.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 10:12 am Normal negative dimshits in the opening posts on this thread, seasons not even over and still questioning T&T, FFS give it a rest and enjoy the fact we have a board of directors, management team and squad that have delivered. Always interested why we talk about "investors" in football clubs. We all use the term about clubs at all levels,The Reverend wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 9:59 am T&T are experienced businessmen. They’ll approach this sensibly, logically and realistically.
My hunch is that high on their current agenda is attracting some new investors. They’ve achieved their primary goal, any next steps will probably come with an increased price tag.
Other than a few top clubs, there is little return in terms of finance for most investors.

I would be more concerned about the connections of our owners to the Illuminati...but there again, if they are connected, don't bet against Orient winning the Champions League in next 10 yearsCEB wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 10:05 amThere’s no way of knowing but (since this thread contains a bizarre level of negativity) I should just say that if the plan *did* factor in a pandemic and the death of a good manager, then serious questions need to be asked about the underpinning ethics of such a plan
Re: 6 Year Plan comes to Fruition....Now What?
One thing I think the club should look at, is how utterly brilliant the club’s engagement was when it had the input of the forum’s own The Cat, who imbued everything around the club’s communication with personality & charm and really created a sense of identity (and in a way, kind of built on the best aspects of what Hearn brought to the club, really communicating a sense of fun)
I can see why, in the aftermath of the Bechetti era and after Justin Edinburgh’s death that it might not have been the time to bring back such an approach, but being back in league one and on a high, trying to get back to that unique feel around the club back then (or building on it) might be a good idea

The phrase "I'm a little disappointed to be honest" needs to join "putting people right on points they were unsure of" in boardin' lexicon.
Whenever anyone achieves, or even exceeds, their stated goal, the default response going forward is: I'm a little disappointed to be honest.

I havent heard any more plans to say get back to the Championship etc. So does this mean, they are happy for us to just linger in league 1 ?
Im a little disappointed to be honest. I want this club back in the second tier, which is where it was, when i first supported the club, but im not sure T&T do.
The current board are extremely communicative compared to their predecessors. If you read or listened to any of the dozens of interviews various board members have given, you'd know the immediate plans are exploring solutions to the stadium capacity problem, building a new training ground, establishing ourselves in league 1 and seeking new outside investment. Those are all long term objectives.
They are also on record as saying the budget will go up by 50% next season if you're worried about the short term.
Seasons not even over, enjoy the moment. First league trophy in over half a century.

..and bearing in mind four are relegated from this division. You wouldn't be able to relax being just below mid table for most of the season.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 9:50 amNot disagreeing with you 666,but I think your playing a dangerous game by just treading water in league one by setting your sites on a mid table position, you could end up by going back where you just come from(FGR). Surely you must aim high as you can. Yes there are financial implications in the championship but as the post says at the beginning”6 year plan” What then.? If the board put that in place then, surely they have a plan for what happens if and when they’ve achieved there goal.? Yes consolidating would be good but as I said that may be harder than it soundsspen666 wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 9:22 amYeovil got to Championship, as did Scunthorpe - both are now struggling in 6th tier of non league football.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 9:13 am There’s no reason why we can’t get into the championship,Wycombe and Burton played in there I do believe, plus Bournemouth are playing in the premiership with a ground that only holds 10,000. However there lies the problem. Finding, building and funding a new stadium. Brentford did so why can’t we?,but that probably is for a different discussion
Burton & Wycombe got to Championship, but did not last there long.
Bournemouth (twice) and Brentford have both gone one better and got to the Premiership
The Championship is certainly achievable for Orient, but there are clear financial risks around overspending and ending up much worse off. Organic growth, rather than rapid growth is more likely to lead to sustained progress.
There will be some big clubs in League one nest season including two or more of Derby, Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton Wanderers
Portsmouth
Charlton Athletic
Realistically, staying in League 1 and consolidating the squad is probably the aim for next season

I’m pretty sure Nigel said our next aim is to consolidate ourselves as a league one club. I would imagine after that the aim is to try for the championship

New investment of a very large scale is needed if we are to be nothing than a League 1 club (old 3rd division)The Reverend wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 9:59 am T&T are experienced businessmen. They’ll approach this sensibly, logically and realistically.

To me that unless the club massive investment we will stagnate in League 1.
The major problem that the club has is ground capacity, we either have to increase capacity substantially or move to another ground and have a stadium that has a capacity large enough to compete in the Championship or again we will stagnate at best.

Re: 6 Year Plan comes to Fruition....Now What?
We haven't been in the second tier for over 40 years. Waiting a couple more shouldn't really be too much of a trial.
So much about the Club will need to change in order for it to become established in the Championship that patience really is required. Winning is a drug, but we may have to reduce the dose for a little while. Also: change is hard, and if we go too quickly it won't be sustainable, and if we take our time, the changes required in that time would likely upset the same people now decrying a lack of ambition/momentum.

A five year plan would have been more ambitious. The shorter timescale would have induced some creative tension enabling the participants to step up.

No, the club owners, directors and team management should have arranged to visit every supporters personally at a time convenient to every supporter to discuss their plans for the club. This should be repeated at least weeklyMistadobalina wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 11:12 am ...

It is wholly unreasonable to expect fans to make the effort to click onto the club website, or watch a video, look at twitter etc etc. The club need to do more to bring the message to supporters

I bang on about ambition and winning mentality more than most though also a realist in terms of what we'll be up against in L1.
Investment in the squad needs to be made over summer and we need to go into the league with the mentality that we can compete against anyone. A comfortable mid-table finish and cup run to fill the coffers would be a fine season whilst finding our feet.
To go further needs more income and a solution to the ground capacity issue which will be a limiting factor.

I'd imagine the next bit will be a 3/4 year plan, of staying up no matter what, consolidate, then aim to make the playoffs
