Vigs

Post by ComeOnYouOs »

There are a few rumours going round, that Vigs is looking to move on. All completely unfounded of course, but even unfounded rumours sometimes come true. If he were to go to pastures new, im wondering if the club have someone in mind to bring in. I think possibly they have, because once the season's ended, there are no more games to go watch a replacement in action, so I presume one has already been earmarked.
If Vigs does go, he'll be much missed in my opinion

He is a vital cog in the Os winning-machine.

He will definitely be missed, but there are lots of good goalkeeper around. I am not too worried.

Goalie is a funny position. You never quite know if you have a good keeper or not. The way I look at it is the amount of mistakes they make. Vigs hardly made any. He is a good keeper and will be missed.

Really hope he stays but was told he has 3 offers (not sure if that no includes our offer). His family love the club. He said when he played at Swindon his parents hardly got a chance to watch him so hoping he may stay. His kids always seem to be wearing our kit too

Most of these rumors will be bollox? Remember when everyone was convinced that Paul Smyth was off to West Brom or wherever it was in January?

Vigs has been the outstanding player in the outstanding defensive team in league 2 so wouldn't be surprised if he does get better offers elsewhere but not going to catastrophise about it just yet.

To be honest I think we're all hoping he stays . He's been a vital member of our league winning team . He'd be a hard player to replace . Fingers cross Martin and Richie can persuade all our wanted out of contract players to stay .

Ling said that a few clubs had made inquiries about Vigs in January. With the season he has had there must be a number of clubs who are interested.

I know it all often comes down to money, but unless it was a big L1 club coming in for him, would really hope we could put forward a good enough offer and argument for him to stay and have a crack with us next season.

He hasnt had much of a settled career before joining us, would be foolish to give up his position here, could end up bench warming for another side.

Anything to back up any of these rumours anymore than the rumour I am starting that M'Bappe and Harry Kane are signing for the O's?

I obviously hope he stays, excellent keeper and big personality too.

Do recall we thought he’d gone (Lincoln was strongly rumoured) when his last contract was up two years back, and I was somewhat surprised when he re-signed for us somewhat later in the window than the others who stayed.

So can’t rule out him moving, though we can now offer him a L1 deal and that is a plus on where we were before.

He literally says in the next line that they are unfounded

I think he’s the best keeper we’ve had in years. He has his limits, but all keepers at this level do. I think he’s best quality is that he can actually come and take a cross and you don’t feel like he’s going to fumble it like basically every other keeper we’ve had in the last ten years.

Saying that, he’s replaceable and whilst I wouldn’t want him replaced, we can survive without him if he chooses to further his career somewhere else
