Some questions from yesterday
The players spotted someone in the crowd at the end and were laughing - who was it?
What was the 'Tequilla' song all about?

He’s such an attention whore, he’s loving it all.
He really gets it, doesn’t he? We’re very fortunate.

Re: Some questions from yesterday
Thank God we have people like Kent and Nigel at the our club . They saved us and much more . We're about to have every single piece of damage Bullshitti done us repaired . That bumhole found us in League 1 and we're about to get back there.. I'm just so grateful to everybody at the club for their hard work on getting us back to where we belong . I couldn't be happier .

Re: Some questions from yesterday
It feels really cathartic to be getting back to the level we were at before that c*nt came in and ruined the Club. But I can't quite shift the sense of bitterness that it's taken everyone 7 years of slog to just get back to the same point (and even then it'll take more time to make us a solid, upwardly mobile member of the division as we were in the summer of 2014). Sure plenty of others are a better person than I am and are just purely enjoying the moment rather than looking back but it's just niggling me.

The last time I saw anything like that was when Bill Shankly stood on the Kop

Two Championships in 5 years is something we are unlikely to see too often. Even if the club had to almost go down the toilet for it..leebmx wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 2:00 pmIts been a fun journey though - no?Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 1:24 pm It feels really cathartic to be getting back to the level we were at before that c*nt came in and ruined the Club. Re: Some questions from yesterday
It all started to go tits up in the second half of the playoff final in 2014. From then all it was a grim downward spiral that ended up in the NL.
Now this is a personal view, but I actually enjoyed our time in the NL. We went to a load of new grounds and met some good fans, and saw clubs that were largely run by some very enthusiastic people who knew they weren’t in it for anything other than ten love of the game. We were largely accepted well and I did a lot more games in those two seasons than I’d done for a good while, and loved it, and I reckon it really made me appreciate football again. I mean, I really, really hate all-seater stadiums, and to stand on a terrace and mingle with your mates as much as you liked was a joy, which is also why yesterday at Sutton was so enjoyable. I bloody loved standing in that massive old shed at Aldershot’s ground when we won the League - it was proper. It’s also why I’ve been enjoying going to Walthamstow FC the last couple of years.

I recognise him actually. I think he was in the TJS and used to start songs ALL THE TIME! Glad he is still doing us proud!theballmagnet wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 12:31 pmThe steward started that song!TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 11:29 am The players spotted someone in the crowd at the end and were laughing - who was it?

Re: Some questions from yesterday
I’m with you on that. Was on the home end at Sutton yesterday and it was lovely to be on a terrace and able to move about. As much as I want Orient to be ambitious and do as well as possible there is something about the thought of the Championship and Prem (unlikely that it would be that we ever got there) that leaves me cold. The money, the ugliness of some of the fan culture, bloody VAR, that makes me appreciate the purity of football at a lower level. I don’t want to be little old Orient forever and there would be something exciting about doing a Brentford but it is harder and harder to keep the pure connection to your club as everything gets bigger and more commercial. It’s a paradox.

Can shove the premier league where the sun don’t shine. A couple of years in the championship with a game against West Ham before I croak would be nice however.

Re: Some questions from yesterday
Completely feel all of that. I’m satisfied that we are back where this all started and once again, one step away from the Championship. But I still hold that bitterness of the lost years and that it won’t be easy to maintain our position in league one. And I don’t enjoy it as much as I did back then. But a chip has been somewhat removed from my shoulder with this promotion.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 1:24 pm It feels really cathartic to be getting back to the level we were at before that c*nt came in and ruined the Club. Re: Some questions from yesterday
It's a strange one isn't it, all the turmoil of nearly going under under then that horrific start to NL life and staring double relegation in the face... to potentially two league titles in quick succession. Not to forget the tragedy in between.
Never mind Wrexham this is the real movie screen football story. You really couldn't write the script.
So glad we'll be an extra league away from NL, never want to see that tinpot league again!

I remember Beelzebub being in the away end at Oxford in 2016. The punters loved that too.Neptune's Spear wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 1:30 pm The last time I saw anything like that was when Bill Shankly stood on the Kop
