McCart gave away the free kick which let to the goal. He's made an error that's cost a goal in every game he's played, hopefully Turns is back next week and that's the last we'll need to see of McCart.

RW had to do something to prevent a Harrogate third. Sweeney was all at sea and Brown wasn't good enough to control the midfield.

Sadlier also isn't the player you want on the field when the going gets tough so he needed to come off too.

Agree a bit but top of the table, make Harrogate fear us more than us fearing them, bring Duke Mckenna on for Sadler or even bring James on and put Sweeney down the wing, it just narrowed the pitch

Brown is just another Clay, people will dislike him in two years, works hard, gets stuck in but not actually that good as a player

Exactly this, a fairly limited but versatile squad player, nothing more. He's the replacement for Clay as you say.

I agree with your opening paragraph.

Agreed with all of that.

He had to take Moncur off as well, there was no point in him coming back out after half time.

RW should have done something to prevent the chance of the first Harrogate goal in my opinion, after that it was ludicrous.

Tbf I don't think we have the options to sub Moncur as well now Lyden is finished for the season. Bit too much of a gamble playing Duke-McKenna for that long as well given he's only just come back.

The first goal kinda came out of nowhere really. Sloppy foul albeit with a very fussy ref and completely switched off as there seemed to be 3 or 4 blue shirts all unopposed when the guy headed it in. After that it was all a bit chaotic and we stopped playing our game.

Lyden was never a replacement for Moncur anyway. Clay was on the bench. We had options, leaving Moncur out there was a mistake.

Personally would have put Kelman on for moncur and put him or Ruel in the 10 role.

I would have definitely taken Moncur and Sadlier off. Ruel or El Miz could have played 10, Sweeney could have gone wide left again, we did have options. George was out on his feet from 60 mins (that's being generous) and was daft to leave him out there.

I was under the impression he was brought in to be the other creative CM bearing in mind Moncur was out at the time.

Bringing Clay on wouldn't have helped matters much imo, keeping possession or creating chances isn't really his strong point.

From the brief appearances he's made so far, Lyden's another 6 (CDM or holding midfielder in old money).

Bringing Clay on would have given us three midfielders actually running around, not just the 2 with Moncur standing by.
