But - a win Monday and they BOTH lose and that's the 6 points gained, so yes, we would be promoted then, as stated upthread.
You havent factored in Stevenage , whereas I Have .

Oi - when I argue about maths I at least know that I’m likely to be wrong, after the incident we don’t talk about.
Tuffers won’t back down on this though, guaranteed
Is he likely to start trying to tell me that when they get big or small, numbers start behaving weirdly?
I really don't know why I'm such an easy hook when people start denying basic fundamental facts. Something just gets to me !
No one has mentioned Bradford City … I think at this point we need a maximum of 7 points to be mathematically certain to take it beyond goal difference, but it could be less depending where we get the points …
Stevenage win all 7 remaining games they end up on 90 points.
Carlisle win all 6 remaining games they end up on 87 points – including beating Northampton.
Bradford City win all 7 remaining games they end up on 86 points – including beating Northampton.
But of course our final game is at Valley Parade, so a point there would reduce the Bantams to a maximum of 84 points.

Appeals to authority only work when your maths isn’t obviously wrong. StillSpike has done the maths, you’ve done a few “yeah but they’re not gonna win ALL their games are they?” which isn’t maths.

Nope , spike has both teams taking 3 points in a game they both CAN'T win.
I know when you lot go all Spursy you think drawing & losing are the same as winning but theyre not. Northampton & Carlisle can NOT BOTH WIN a game between Northampton & Carlisle .
Anything after that IS NOT MATHS , it's Speculation . O.K Poppit !

But Spike your spread sheet IS NOT a
FUNDAMENTAL FACT ,
It is just 1 of numerous posibilities & therein is your problem .
You havent shown the possibilities that those below us either
A. Lose every game
B. Draw every game
C. A Mixture of WIN/LOSE/DRAW ,
You only show D WIN EVERY GAME .

LIAR ! (Poppit)
Lying on a game that hasnt
happened yet.
Good luck getting that to Court POPPIT
That's because when you're trying to calculate the minimum number of points needed to be mathematically certain, you have to work on the worst possible scenario of results for those teams who could catch you. Otherwise, you could just say - "Oh, they're all going to lose all their remaining games, so we don't need any points to be mathematically certain"
After your @Uni degree, you didn't go to work for Barings, by any chance?
