Bloody Hell

Post by Top of the JES »

Had some work done last week which involved the water tank in our airing cupboard. Arrived home this afternoon and there is water dripping everywhere downstairs except the kitchen, I emptied the water tank by opening all the taps in the house. Downstairs. walls, ceilings, carpets and personal effects all ruined. Had to isolate all the sockets so no power downstairs, upstairs carpets are sodden and ruined and I suspect the floorboards will have to come up to dry out and possibly a rewire.

Luckily I had the number of the bloke whose business I used and I called him this afternoon, he will be here at Eight in the morning with an Electrician, plumber, and a team of helpers, a builder will call around later to assess what damage we can't see.

As I can't do anymore than I have done tonight I an trying to stay chilled but my high from yesterday has has come down to earth with a soggy crash!

Very sorry to hear that. We got flooded out in a storm a couple of years ago and it was horrid - whole house stank from the damp. Hope it's fixed soon - and that the Os give you more reasons to smile in the coming weeks.

Sorry to hear that, what a mare, can only hope as much as possible survived and you'll get all sorted without any insurance delays.

I think you'll have to claim through your insurers that will claim back through theirs.

Sod that - I make him right, let the bodgers he's used sort it out on their policy.

Good luck with it.
