I walked away from the ground surrounded by them. I didn't see any problems at all. They were singing, fairly accurately, "2-0 and you fecked it up" but that was about as bad as it got. Some of our 13 year olds were baiting them from the opposite side of the High Road. Much ado about nothing.

In response to the thread title & ignoring all the garbage posts in-between: they have condemned what happened. But not exactly apologised

We will cooperate with Orient should there be any further investigations...but can't be arsed looking into it ourselves, despite us being the ones more able to identity people and having their when they purchased tickets etc

I know a couple of Colchester fans , they reckon they were allowed to sit where they liked yesterday so no way of matching tickets to seating areas ☹️ they also condemned their fellow supporters for abusing Justin .

Exactly. Like they looked into their 'fans' ripping out seats at Ipswich earlier this season. Hope they get relegated and enjoy their Essex Derby at Rots Hell.

Perhaps no action was taken yesterday as, the stewards/Plod may not even be aware who JE is?

Just because you're a steward, doesn't mean you know anything about LOFC, and ditto Plod - it's just some overtime for them probably

Notwithstanding, chanting about such things shows zero class and is in horrendous poor taste. The sad thing is I can't even say I'm surprised- the vast majority of fans of all clubs are of course decent people, but the elements that aren't are lobotomised primates. Liverpool fans (for example) are still chanting about the Munich disaster which was now 65 years ago. No doubt Man U fans chant about the Hillsboro dead. You can't fix stupid.

Unfortunately every club has their fare share of ‘idiots’ and it’s a fact that they are an element of society and if all football was banned tomorrow, these idiots would just attach themselves to another sport or organisation, they’re not going away I’m afraid.
As others have said the Colchester idiots weren’t actually breaking the law by shouting these vile things and there’s not a great deal the law or stewards can do.
Obviously violence and throwing missiles are different things but I don’t think there were actual altercations between the fans.

My last word in this thread being turned (by you) into one about me but I find it equally disgusting you are tarring me with the same brush when I was NEVER EVEN charged.
The Colchester fans have never even been charged for their actions have they?

Not the best argument you have made to claim the moral high ground

This has nicely reminded me why I stopped posting on here.

The thread title is "Will Colchester apologise". I post the link to Colchester's statement & say it's not exactly an apology. And the response is being mocked for something I neither said or implied.

Think I'll go back to not posting & leave you all to your bickering, willy waving & one-upmanship.

Has Embleton come out and said anything about these chants? How the f*ck can he keep quiet in all of this?

For what it's worth, I didn't hear any of this from the other side of the ground. Did anyone else in the ground actually hear it or is just from social media?

I followed a large group of Col Utd fans down to the ground from the station and they were they the usual bunch of drunk/coked up young lads wearing oh so original stone island jumpers and those stupid CP Company coats with the in-built swimming goggles, singing classics like 'Leyton's a shithole, I want to go home' etc but were no harm to anyone. The only trouble was when some silly old sod seemed to want to take them all on and the police had to usher him away.

Not sure what Tuffers meant with that post, i wouldn't take it as him mocking you but this is the internet where people love to try and have the last word.

In response to tuffers, yes clubs should apologise for the actions and behaviour of their fans.

But only if it’s 100% proven that there’s something to apologise for, am I right?

Of course they have something to apologise for. Whilst it isn’t club officials in the away end singing it and whilst I am sure and or have witnessed many “dodgy” chants at grounds (home and away, opposing fans AND ours), the one one thing you don’t hear EVERY week is supporters singing about dead people in a box and that oversees the mark by a long, long, long, long way.

I see elsewhere TRUMP asking “did this actually happen”.

I had seven different people tell me before the game kicked off it happened and then it was clearly audible mid way through the first half. OK only lasted all of about 10-15 seconds but it happened, no ifs no buts.

About time IMHO that this was / is rightly condemned from ALL sides including our own.
