Why did you lift the ban on Spen?

He’s been back five minutes and already he has:

1. Trashed a thread about racism in football by disregarding a report by Kick It Out for no other reason than “it was worse in the 80s”

2. Been abusive to other boarders, calling them stupid without any provocation whatsoever


This individual was banned for starting arguments with other boarders days after Justin passed. Everybody else was still in mourning. Totally unforgivable.

I don’t know what kind of begging he must have done to be allowed back on the board but he adds nothing but misery to this board.

I rather like Spenny and his pedantic posturing. Both he & Este deserved a suspension for prolonged quibbling arguments just after Edinburgh’s death, but generally it’s good to have someone question assumptions and “universally acknowledged truths”.

Besides, we get to hear more about him breaking land speed records up and down the A1.

Wasn't aware of the foe button. Will it prevent Spen from seeing (and subsequently wrecking) and threads of mine? Does it also I mean I won't have to see his garbage posts?

The definition of "abuse" is very odd on this message board.

Apparently, reminding somebody of the reason why they were banned from the board in the first place constitutes abuse.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up about the foe button. Will put it to use on Spen and his loyal sidekick Prestige Worldwide (who appears to have a fondness for racially based anecdotes about black people).

I’ve added Spen and Prestige Worldwide to my foe list, meaning I won’t see any of their posts anymore.

I’m proactively distancing myself from those two users.

Still don’t understand why you lifted Spens ban. He has already demonstrated that he’ll be nothing more than a nuisance from now on.

A guy who came on a Leyton Orient message board to start arguments literally days after Justin died. He even did it on Justin memorial threads if I remember correctly.

However, if you want an antagonistic user who disrespects a great man who had just passed away and disputes the figures of one of the biggest anti-racism organisations in Britain then so be it.

I’ll let him crack on. I’m not the only person he’ll rub the wrong way.
