Re: Jacob Reese Mogg
His ‘personality’, much like Boris, is nothing more than an act to appear eccentric and distract from the actual motives of this greedy individual.
Rees-Mogg parades about as if he’s a member of the landed gentry. In reality he’s got a lot more in common with Gordon Gekko, having made his fortune in the City in the 80s and early 90s. I suppose this is less romantic than pretending that you’ve descended from a long line of British aristocracy. He is very much new money, and all the fuss he makes about pomp, ceremony and tradition hides the fact that in reality he’s a fund manager who dresses up like a Dickens character.

Exactly my perceived opinion of the man. However having seen him answer a series of questions from University students, some of whom were clearly gunning for him, I'm prepared to admit there may be more to him than first meets the eye.Buckingham wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 11:29 am His ‘personality’, much like Boris, is nothing more than an act to appear eccentric and distract from the actual motives of this greedy individual.

Re: Jacob Reese Mogg
Again, like Boris, there is this false assumption by many that he is stupid. It's all part of the act, or course. Looking silly is far less suspicious than looking nasty, greedy or malicious. Which, of course, both actually are.Forty-Niner wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 12:17 pmExactly my perceived opinion of the man. Bumbling Boris and Relic Rees-Mogg are far more palatable characters than Bullingdon Boris and Moneyman Mogg.

Re: Jacob Reese Mogg
My son studied Government & Politics at A Level, which involved a few trips to parliament, and there was some Q&A session with various MPs.
Son rated JRM by far the most impressive – nothing to do with his politics – just his openness and ability to communicate and listen. He was keen to encourage the youngsters to get involved, whatever their politics, and he welcomed challenging questions, and was most polite to all, as is his way of course.

Rees-Mogg. Suppose we shall have to put up with him more now. I see conflict ahead.
