Re: Meet the Chairman
My only criticism at this stage is why no striker when it's obvious we needed a goalscorer. They maybe could of brought one in instead of one of the other positions. I'm certainly not complaining about money spent. The budget here is maxed out and we seem to be losing more money than any other club in L2 and that has to come from someones pocket. So demands of spending more money seems rather blinkered and ignorant.
Why are we losing so much money? I saw a profit/loss table for L2 and we were top of the losess by millions. Are our wages that much higher than every other club?

Don't forget we don't own the stadium anymore, so have to pay uncle Bazza a hefty sum each year. The lease also has a full maintenance part so money has had to be spent on a dilapidated East stand. This combined with London wages is where a lot of the money has gone.Razzmachaz wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 11:01 am My only criticism at this stage is why no striker when it's obvious we needed a goalscorer. Re: Meet the Chairman
I went after the game. Bit of talk about capacity and specifically the East Stand. Consultants being appointed with regard to East Stand options. It was muted that a total rebuild would take 3 years. Begged the question as what we would do over that period but of course all very much hypothetical at the moment.

Re: Meet the Chairman
The East stand can’t cope with near capacity crowds as it is now.
Not enough space to get to the food outlets nor the toilets so something needs to be done.
A few more stewards to show the newer / promotion bandwagon fans to their correct seat would help as well….

Re: Meet the Chairman
Redoing the east stand would cost a fortune for the benefit of adding what, 3k seats? Guess you're then probably tacking on a proper hospitality element and tying in some additional uses to increase revenue year round. Seems like a helluva risk seeing as we don't even own the ground though, and are gonna be relying upon the future cooperation of the next gen of Hearns to extend our lease at a reasonable rate.

Re: Meet the Chairman
Be better if we cold knock down the west stand and start again. Although, probably had a better chance of that when it was just football pitches behind it rather than flats like there is now.

Re: Meet the Chairman
What i find surreal, is, the club are considering spending a fortune, on a ground they dont even own
This seems ridiculous. Surely the owner must pay something towards the stadiums upkeep and safety?
If they are truly considering spending millions, then it MUST be on a new stadium the club owns. Rent is about 900k a year, that would be saved forever

Re: Meet the Chairman
Rent is 180k a year no? Where has the 900k figure come from?
We are getting nearish to the end of the 20 year lease we signed back in 2009/10 so real prospect of our rent getting jacked up in the medium term. I imagine this will be a significant factor when current ownership decide on whether trying to expand or move. Doubt it's ever going to be worth buying the freehold back from Matchroom seeing as all the flats have hemmed in our capacity permanently.

Re: Meet the Chairman
How much money do you think they invest every season to keep us going and maintain the budget? We are losing £2million a year as it is. It's easy to spend other peoples money, It's going to cost a lot more if we go up next season, rather than constantly whinge perhaps you could chip in?PoundhillO wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 12:12 am Why can't the owners bite the bullet and inject enough money in that gets in the players needed to get us promoted ?

I don't actually know. T&T have obviously 'invested' loads of money historically but isn't the new 'investment' from the latest round of rich yanks effectively covering the latest losses?Top of the JES wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 12:31 pmHow much money do you think they invest every season to keep us going and maintain the budget? Re: Meet the Chairman
I don’t think having additional investment works like that T&T will still be lumping in the additional investment help do things like 5he roof and other capital projects.TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 1:35 pmI don't actually know.
