Lib Dem Watch
Congratulations to Jo Swinson, the new leader of the only party to officially endorse Remain.
She should push the party onwards and upwards now that the talking corpse, Vince Cable, has departed.

What's that smell?... oh yeh, its Jo Swinson's voting record. Shouldn't take her critics very long to point out that she's an utter creep.

She says she will do anything to stop Brexit. Anything? I hope Boris hasn't heard this.

She does come across as being a bit weird and that's even before we get to her voting record to implement the austerity measures to deny the weakest members of our society a decent life. Her voting record is what one expects from a dirty, stinkin, yella Tory.Disoriented wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 10:33 pmReally?Eat The Rich wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 10:14 pm What's that smell?... oh yeh, its Jo Swinson's voting record. Boris is a bit weird
She could be classed as the
teacher all the kids wanted to make cry.
That would be more understandable.

My impression is they only care about the middle class . Also while in power those slags helped the Tories privatise Royal Mail . I'll never forget that .Max B Gold wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 10:58 pmShe does come across as being a bit weird and that's even before we get to her voting record to implement the austerity measures to deny the weakest members of our society a decent life. The RM is a spent business and most people that want to re-nationalise the ROYAL mail want to get rid of the monarchy. Because of email its a parcel business these days - and not a great one at that.

You missed out the value of Land and Assets and the fact the existing business was sold for considerably less than its worth OR that the business with its total UK coverage and overseas agreements could actually expand and adapt.LittleMate wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:54 pmAnd that was a bad move because.....?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:27 pmMy impression is they only care about the middle class . Re: Lib Dem Watch
Because I work for Royal Mail and since privatisation our terms and conditions have come under constant attack . We've also lost thousands of jobs nationwide because of it . Maxy is completely right when he calls them yellow Tories . They obviously totally believe in privatisation . Their no friend of the working class, just the middle class .LittleMate wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:54 pmAnd that was a bad move because.....?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:27 pmMy impression is they only care about the middle class . If you are referring to 2010, she was in COALITION not governing. If the polls are accurate, she can deliver REMAIN and pump the major parties.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 10:58 pmShe does come across as being a bit weird and that's even before we get to her voting record to implement the austerity measures to deny the weakest members of our society a decent life. Re: Lib Dem Watch
Her victory speech did at one point remind me of the much-maligned David Steel Party Conference speech of many years ago …. “Go back to your constituencies and prepare for government”. Well I don’t have a crystal ball and these are uncertain political times, but suspect there is a limit how far the Lib Dems can rise from the paltry number of seats they have.

Re: Lib Dem Watch
There is a limit because of the first past the post voting system. If it keeps these opportunists and Tory second eleven out then it must be a good thing.EastDerehamO wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 7:36 am Her victory speech did at one point remind me of the much-maligned David Steel Party Conference speech of many years ago …. “Go back to your constituencies and prepare for government”. What are you talking about . ? If the polls are accurate it will be the Brexit Party doing all the pumping of the three major political parties .Disoriented wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 5:12 amIf you are referring to 2010, she was in COALITION not governing. Pro-Austerity Tory. But apparently looking at her voting record and, y'know, her actual politics is just Trotskyite bullying.

Re: Lib Dem Watch
I suspect in a GE the Lib Dems, Greens and Brexit party would not make much of an impact.
Votes will be spread around quite evenly between Labour and Tories leaving the others with a few seats here and there
No overall majority and maybe a proper coalition as seen in other EU countries

Gone are the days when the Liberal Party had such shining lights as Cyril Smith, Clement Freud and Jeremy Thorpe.

Re: Lib Dem Watch
Jo Swinson calling for a vote of no confidence in Boris is a bit ridiculous . He hasn't even been in office 24 hours for Gods sake . Also agreeing with Caroline Lucas that she wouldn't accept a 2nd vote to leave is pathetic . It's laughable that she has the cheek to call herself a democrat . The LibDems are losing the plot , big time .

Re: Lib Dem Watch
Lib Dems take somewhere in Wales, shame they announced the results in jabber jabber language which none of the candidates understood. Majority of 1400. Labour in fourth place under the glorious leadership of an old racist.
