Happe was injured in the same game as the Beckles red card. Even more reason for him not to have been sent off!!!tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 10:03 amWhen Pratley isnt on the field .The Reverend wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 9:52 amGood point. Isn’t Beckles vice captain? I’m sure I’ve seen him with the armband on this season.
I'm suprised frankfurter didnt tell you .
As for bringing in centre halves
Happe & Ogie were injured before
Omars red card so 2 CH'
were still required to keep 4 in the squad .
Finnally the £150 k is wages for those just
in to the end of the season .
There is more, lots of guffawing by
the panel at those who believe
there is no ambition here !
Your summary of the show is very helpful though. Thank you

At the time I couldn’t really see. I’ve watched the replay a number of times and although the claim is that he got sent for a stamp (which I personally can’t see) I thought that he should have gone for the high elbow anyway.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 11:14 amDid you see how he got sent off ?The Reverend wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 11:11 amHappe was injured in the same game as the Beckles red card. northampton striker fell on the floor
as the ref blew his whistle ,
Omar stepped back & the bloke on the floor was under his feet , worst sending off since throwing of a boot at Sutton in the NL . Seems a bit of hate is rising .
How can an O's fan not know Prats is Captain ?

Re: Recording of The Orient Hour Extra Show with Martin Ling
My only concern was that he said that we can only spend 55% of our income for players salaries as stated by EFL. However the members of the board can inject more money providing it is not a loan to the club. This is what the likes of Gillingham and Colchester must have done. Considering the positioning of us in the league perhaps a little more injection from each member might have got us a goalscorer.Nothing was said of the fee we got for Coleman. He said we spent 150k in the transfer of the incoming 4 players. He also said that Bonne would have come back to the Os but for the fact he was earning around 5 times at QPR that we could pay himaylesburyos wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 9:31 am Good listen. We have 4th highest budget. Extra £150,000 spent in wages in January transfer window. Offer made for LV turned down immediately. No interest in Smythe. Interest shown in Daniel NK but never went further. The match at Northampton changed our tfr priorities.

Re: Recording of The Orient Hour Extra Show with Martin Ling
Credit where due Ling spoke very well in this one, even showed humility in admitting what a shambles last January was.
A few thoughts from it...
- Bonne was never realistic coming from the level he was so not surprised by that at all. Still a bit dubious about how competitive we can be going forward even if promoted given what clubs around us have signed and seem to have in cash reserves. The ground capacity becomes a real limiting factor with the revenue cap so will be interesting what plans NT has around that issue
- anyone know if that 150k spent is the figure after taking into account the equivalent wage reductions of Wood and Coleman? Also what happened to the forgotten man Georgiou, do we need to rename Boco Island at this point?
- why did our own fans make up the Smyth rumour? Bizarre really
- not surprised in players holding out until end of the season before deciding on contracts. If they get us promoted and then want to go then fair enough really
- would've been interesting to ask ML his thoughts on the transfer patterns of some of the sides around us. Made some valid points about likes of Gillingham but getting views on Stevenage, Northampton etc is something else

If he was in the first team that may be so but he was not in the first team so not on their wages. I remember Coates and Moores joining us from Spurs as our first team wages equalled Spurs reserve team wages.moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 3:12 pmHe also said that Bonne would have come back to the Os but for the fact he was earning around 5 times at QPR that we could pay him

Re: Recording of The Orient Hour Extra Show with Martin Ling
The contact he signed when joining QPR would determine his wage, not if he was in the team. He would only miss out on bonuses. In the 70's, contracts were different.WilliamTell wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 8:02 pmIf he was in the first team that may be so but he was not in the first team so not on their wages. had you said glass half empty as in youve only half your drink left (bad) , or its a good thing
Ive still got half my drink left (good)
I would have no recourse ,
However to say a glass being half empty or half full against being sure Omar should lose his captaincy when he isnt captain is comparing a glass half empty or full to an entirely empty bottle
