Our crap friendlies
Why do we play against such crap opposition? Is it better training to play against lower teams? I would appreciate a glamour tie or two.

Re: Our crap friendlies
and why are they all away games?
I MIGHT have considered getting off my backside to watch the likes of Harlow and Rushden & Diamonds if the games were at Brisbane Road.
Travelling away to a friendly (which isn't 5 minutes from where you happen to live) seems bonkers to me. And I go to 15-20 away league games per season.

Re: Our crap friendlies
Partly because i think our grass is relayed every summer so might not be ready but also to give the smaller clubs some income. Would probably cost us money to put on friendlies which will get 400 people.Buckingham wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 3:28 pm and why are they all away games?

Re: Our crap friendlies
The issue is that EPL teams go abroad for friendlies. Why come to E10 when you can get big bucks in US, China & Australia

I saw that Maidenhead played Kuwait the other day. What a wonderfully weird pairing.

That’s if the Navy still have 11 Sailors left to make up a team.

Re: Our crap friendlies
I assume it was to late for Spurs to change there plans, hopefully we can arrange a game before the start of next season and I would not mind it was at the Spurs ground as more money can, be raised their.

Re: Our crap friendlies
Didn't we just play Hull (championship) and now have Norwich (premier) coming up? Perhaps not exactly glamour names but certainly higher league opposition.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 3:23 pm Why do we play against such crap opposition?
