Even in 2006 when we went up Tan and Miller weren't exactly spectacular. In 2013/14 Scott Cuthbert basically covered the whole year, good player but a centre back. Last season it was probably our weakest position overall...

Best one was probably Matt Joseph...
Andrew Whing did a good job for us in the 2010 season where we had the FA Cup run. Scored the best goal I've seen an RB hit too. Matt Joseph gets my all-time favourite vote though.
Yep - I go with you on Whing - very decent.
Why do I think Desperate Dan when I think about Andrew Whing??? Did he have a dodgy chin or something??

Coulthirst has always been a really hardworking forward. Not the most prolific or pacey but he won't give defenders a moments peace.

Doubt he is good enough for league football.
? He has played in the EFL before why wouldn’t he be good enough?
Strange logic.

I see him as a like for like for Koroma . I reckon Coulthurst would be a good signing.

With a minimal goal ratio, and hardly set the world on fire in non league. Would be an improvement on Alabi for sure, but wouldnt want to pay a fee for him.
His goal ratio is on the same par as Koroma for last season 1 in every 3 is that really bad? so not sure why we wouldn’t pay a fee as he’s still under contract
Because I don't think he justifies a fee as a third choice. Why are you being intentionally thick?

I liked Whing too. Amiable. It was like he couldn’t really believe it himself that he was a professional footballer.

So same goal ratio as Wilkinson and Koroma still under contract
Why would you think we would get him on a free

I don't think we will get him for free, and haven't said we would. He would command a fee, and I wouldn't want the club to do that for a third or fourth choice player.

He might start off as a 3rd choice striker but if he does well he could become a first team starter. I reckon Coulthirst and Angol could become a good partnership in the mould of Bonne and Koroma

Excellent signing. Prone to walking a disciplinary tightrope at times, but a League One-standard, no-nonsense sh*t-kicker. I’d love him here.

Same. Just what we are missing. I do worry about a disruptive personality coming in though, especially given the horrible circumstances this season and the obvious bond between the current squad.

He sounds just like the central midfielder we’ve been crying out for ,for months now . Get him in the building. .

What is this nonsense?

Why would you only pay a fee for your first choice 11 players?

I'd love the club to pay a fee for Dennis or Hemmings, who we have both been linked with. I'd also like Alfie Rutherford if we are talking about non league players.

I personally don't think Coulthirst is good enough, hence I personally wouldn't want the club to pay a fee for him.

It's interesting that people would see signing Coulthurst as ambitious, but don't feel the same about Conor Wilkinson.

Not sure who said that or when?

I'm guessing the perceived ambition is not at the individual players but at having 3 first choice strikers competing for 2 spots?

Read earlier posts to see this being said about Coulthurst.

The reaction to Wilkinson we moderately positive, but nobody was saying it showed great ambition- maybe this was diluted by Bonne leaving.

Line Coulthurst and Wilkinson's recent records up and they're pretty similar, with Wilkinson probably being more prolific recently.

People were calling for us to sign Coulthurst before we signed the two we did, so I don't think 3rd choice has anything to do with it.
