What are you Watching Today Part 2

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
Sir Andy Murray beating Thanasi Kokkinakis in the 2nd round of the Australian Open on Eurosport.
Amazing match, finished at just gone 4.00am in the morning. Andy's longest ever match, lasting 5hrs 45 mins. He also now holds the record for most five set come backs from 2-0 down.
For a 35 year old his mental and physical stamina are incredible.
And all that with a metal hip!

Tar
Very engrossing piece, loved it.
Cate Blanchett can't 'arf act, can't she. Must listen to more Mahler as well
Off to see Babylon on Thursday, must take some sandwiches as is over 3 hours long.

Have you listened to Kermode's review of Babylon yet?The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 5:54 pm Tar

Happy Valley series 3. 4 episodes in, with 2 more to go. Almost went a bit Line of Duty on Sunday, but just about held back. But brilliant writing and acting from all involved.

I know he gave it 2* in the Guardian but as I am already committed to going, I'll watch it first and listen to Mark after.Dunners wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 6:11 pmHave you listened to Kermode's review of Babylon yet?The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 5:54 pm Tar

I just don't like Margot Robbies grin, the babylon trailer was irritating enough, cant imagine watching 3 hours of it.

Even though he's careful not to not give away spoilers, I avoid his reviews if I'm going to see anything too. But I very rarely disagree with him. It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts after you see it.The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 6:33 pmI know he gave it 2* in the Guardian but as I am already committed to going, I'll watch it first and listen to Mark after.Dunners wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 6:11 pmHave you listened to Kermode's review of Babylon yet?The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 5:54 pm Tar

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
It started off OTT and carried on. And on and on and on, relentless, grossness after grossest, we managed 90 mins and left. Watched Mark's review after I got home to have our decision verified.Dunners wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 6:53 amEven though he's careful not to not give away spoilers, I avoid his reviews if I'm going to see anything too. It was a mess, nothing in it to enjoy. I knew before going that it might not be that much but hoped that parts of its three hour plus might be ok. Alas it was just one pace, far too OTT, needed some, didn't have any at all, subtlety. Give it a miss.
Trailers for some good stuff coming up, Women Talking and The Whale both look like much watch, even the Spielberg one. Think I'll give the Magic Mike thing a miss though.

Thanks. I've read good stuff about both The Whale and The Fabelmans, so will try and catch both. The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 5:18 pmIt started off OTT and carried on. Nathan For You(amazon)- man 'helps' businesses, things like getting a frozen yoghurt place to promote a poo flavour, allowing attractive people to shoplift, offering rebates but the catch is customers must fill a form and deliver it to a box on top of a mountain.
Tickled me.
