Re: McAuley Bonne
Well this makes things very interesting, you'd have to think we'd have a real shot at getting him in the door.
Why?
- Still local to him.
- Firing us (potentially) to another promotion on his CV.
- Will see position we are in, which makes it an attractive proposition to play regular League 1 football next season. You could make an argument that this would not be guaranteed with signing for any League 1 club 13th down, both in terms of regular playing time and being in League 1.
- On the above point, strikes me as a player that wants to be on the pitch.
- Also strikes me as a confidence player that likes to be
loved. He knows he'd get that in abundance here.
- I believe we cannot loan 3 players from the same club, no smoke without fire?
Wages and interest elsewhere may be a stumbling block but you'd have to think we'd be in the running.

Re: McAuley Bonne
I have no wish to be controversial, but he's not worth the wage he would be asking.TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 2:22 pmBy style, we mean formation.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 1:23 pm Is it about style or results?
Results come first, surely. If results are accompanied by style, so much the better.
Can anybody remember the style we had in winning the National League?
I cannot. Ultimately, does it matter?
Was Argentina's style great in winning the World Cup?
I do not think so.
And as we’ve already said, yes he absolutely does. And he’s a Richie type of player character wise, too.

Re: McAuley Bonne
Someone ITK at Ipswich Town (close to where I live) who had him on loan last season told me. £4.5k a week is more a middle of league one wage than championship money, Ipswich paid a percentage of his wages. He will have to drop his wage expectations if he drops to League One.LittleMate wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 8:43 pmWhere did you pluck that figure from? I looked at one internet source that suggested £4.5k. The truth may be somewhere in the middle.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 7:35 pm He was on £10k a week at QPR.
He will have a lot of interest from League one. Our only hope is that Bonne likes Lingys coffee and comes back short term until the end of the season. Like to see it but it’s a long shot.

In spite of the fact that Macauley has achieved very little since leaving us in 2019, I'd love to have him back. He should be a realist and come to terms with the fact that his level is League 2

Yes he was but nothing was ever proved and he wasn't charged, so please let it drop.

Are they, though? Going back to Charlton would be a turn up.

I do hate this kind of insinuation which offends all the rules of natural justice.
