Also what happened to our last national league signing and where is he now ?Harlow wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 5:20 pm I think we will be looking for someone to help take us up and beyond. Bonne could be that person, with us he had a lot of energy which suits RW. He was also a great target man for near post corners, flick on or scoring. We took a punt on a lower league striker last year, hasn't yet worked out.

One thing for sure he'd give everything for the cause if he did join us. Workrate and commitment absolutely top class.
P.S. mods can we at least get his name right on the thread?

Ethan Coleman-playing for Bromley as, per bbc, a left back (well, his last couple of games)

Re: McAuley Bonne
With our current lack of goals and injuries now could be the time to try and get Bonne on loan. It may cost us a fair bit of money over the 4 or 5 month period . Don’t want to be in the position as we were last January when goals and confidence went awol. We also need a winger to take over from Smythe when injured. Also with injuries and suspensions to Happe Ogie and Becklies we need CBS urgently.moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 7:26 am Why don’t we get in mcauley Bonne on loan till the end of the season. He has only played 6 games for QPR this season . Nt been in their squad in recent games. Would be a great asset to us and could fit in the way we play

Re: McAuley Bonne
The plain and simple fact is ..
You get McAuley Bonne back in the building
on loan ( ok it’s gonna cost the club a few
quid), but not only do we get promoted but
will probably go in to win the league..
Unless there’s already a new signing coming in
surely a phone call over to west London has
to be made ..

Absolutely spot on, make the call ,spend what ever is needed and get Bonne back at our club and go on to win the league.Hedmans Header wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 6:47 am The plain and simple fact is ..

Re: McAuley Bonne
Wouldn’t be in QPRs interest to send him here and take away game time from Kelman (and also knocks Duke McKenna even further down the pecking order).

Re: McAuley Bonne
Wellens made the point recently that Kelman has never played this number of games in a run before.
I think Kelman could do with a break. No reason why a forward line with Bonne couldn’t include Kelman.
Get Bonne in the building now.

We seem to be doing fine without him too...
If Ipswich come in, we've no chance, either attracting his attention or financially.

What some people seem to forget is that whilst MB didn't do too badly when he was at Orient years ago, the team play a different style now under a different manager and it could well be that accommodating him ( or anyone else people are suggesting) will disrupt the formation and can cause problems elsewhere.

We are doing fine, but we undoubtedly need more fire power. RW said exactly that yesterday and that we need men with experience. MB would fit the bill perfectly.TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 11:32 amWe seem to be doing fine without him too...

I’m fully aware of our position.
My point is that you have no idea of Ipswich’s position - their fans would say the same about us, sitting top of the table and miles clear of 4th place.

Anyone who saw Bonne play for us previously and has seen us play under Richie knows he is the perfect fit style wise.

No, I don’t know Ipswich’s position, or Orients come to that, or MB’s view on it all.TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 11:52 am I’m fully aware of our position.

We’re all just guessing, that what these boards are for, isn’t it?

Re: McAuley Bonne
After yesterdays game where we only had Kelman and Wareham up front bringing back Bonne seems a lot more appealing this morning.

Re: McAuley Bonne
Ipswich had him on loan and didn't appear to want to keep him .I'm not sure just how interested they would be . According to somebody on here he isn't even in the QPR squad . Coming back to us would help give his career a push .,especially if he can do well for us .TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 11:32 amWe seem to be doing fine without him too...

I wonder why he's never held down a regular team place since he left us. Apart from the fact he stepped up a league or two, that is.

I’m confident that Richie Wellens will have thought of this too. He’s not a moron.spen666 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 11:35 am What some people seem to forget is that whilst MB didn't do too badly when he was at Orient years ago, the team play a different style now under a different manager and it could well be that accommodating him ( or anyone else people are suggesting) will disrupt the formation and can cause problems elsewhere.

Re: McAuley Bonne
In a nutshell I think that's basically it , the standard being higher . At League 2 level he should still be very good plus he would have something to prove that he's still good enough to play at a higher level . As with all signing though its 50/50 how good he'll be so its Richie's call.Chief crazy horse wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 12:33 pm I wonder why he's never held down a regular team place since he left us.
