McAuley Bonne
Why don’t we get in mcauley Bonne on loan till the end of the season. He has only played 6 games for QPR this season . Nt been in their squad in recent games. Would be a great asset to us and could fit in the way we play

As much as I love him, and he would be an upgrade. He’s the same player as Drinan but a bit better.

Out of contract in 6 months, although QPR have a further years option that on current form will not be taken up.
Seen him play a couple of times on TV in the past 18 months. It might just be the TV but he's not been the all action striker we had.

Easy to overlook the “ all action striker “ we had was playing in the NL. It’s a bit different playing consistently at a higher level.LittleMate wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 8:28 amOut of contract in 6 months, although QPR have a further years option that on current form will not be taken up.

I noticed that he hadn't been on the bench recently so had the same thought as you. Could be a move that would re kindle his career.moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 7:26 am Why don’t we get in mcauley Bonne on loan till the end of the season. Re: McAuley Bonne
On the surface, it may well seem absurd, However, the circumstances could be moving into alignment whereby it could become reality, now that would become fun.

I wouldn't say No but I'm not sure . Is he still as good as he was when he was with us before ?

He’s had 3 years of top level coaching so yeah, I’m gonna guess he is better.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 12:28 pm I wouldn't say No but I'm not sure . Is he still as good as he was when he was with us before ?

Re: McAuley Bonne
We have a brilliant defence and a forward line that (Smyth aside) is lacking goals...
Something has to be done if we are to maintain our drive to L1, Bonne would of course be an option (assuming he was fit and willing to drop down to L2?)

Re: McAuley Bonne
Drinan - low on confidence and is not very good
Smith - Not played for 2 months and I don’t think is in RW plans
Sotiriou - no where near good enough at the moment
Kelman - has the ability but is being used more as a the supplier rather than than the clinical finisher.
Who we can pick up is going to be a challenge? We were outbid for Ronaldo and any striker that is on form is out of our reach. Maybe a sly transfer target from a lower division, James McShane from Dorking….

Take him any day. Whole-hearted and guranteed goals. Not always pretty in his play but he has a ruthless streak.

Re: McAuley Bonne
Would he be motivated though to come back and play? Does he even want to come back?
I think what ever we get in Jan will be a short term fix loan or a punt on a decent lower league striker

Re: McAuley Bonne
I think we will be looking for someone to help take us up and beyond. Bonne could be that person, with us he had a lot of energy which suits RW. He was also a great target man for near post corners, flick on or scoring. We took a punt on a lower league striker last year, hasn't yet worked out.
