Fortunately RW sorted that in summer with his demand for quality. Need more of that in Jan and going forward.

Re: Jordan Brown
Jordan Brown turned up a decent player. Only started 1 game last season (I think) before getting injured - but played brightly in a Tuesday night defeat. He's a midfielder 100% and is progressive in his play. I love the lads attitude. Wellens picks him at full back and he lets nobody down (had a tricky lad against Bradford too); plays him in midfield and its the same. Wellens didn't think that was enough of a challenge so he played him in both positions yesterday (changing position as opposed to bringing Clay on). Says a lot about both Browns attitude and what Wellens thinks about him. Would not surprise me in the slightest if he got an improved 2 year deal before or at the end of the season.

Granted RW saw something in Brown to keep him around when the others were given the boot and his adaptability in different positions was likely part of that.
The player that makes it all tick is El Miz. Pratley doesn't have to work as hard chasing loose balls so can concentrate on his game, pressure is taken off the defence so they keep more clean sheets and so on. Sorting that one position has been the catalyst for everything else.
The squad is well balanced at the moment though could benefit from a clinical finisher upfront. Fingers crossed we can offload a few in Jan and make that happen.
I'm not sure why you bother getting involved.

Re: Jordan Brown
Correct. Pratley was trying to cover central midfield on his own. With El Miz in the side he can concentrate on his own role.gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 6:52 pmNot buying that for a second, our CM at the time was a shambles and both players were brought in as the solution. Re: Jordan Brown
In that first game he was the only player to play between the lines. His control marked him out as having something. RW does not yet ask Brown to play that way, but from the little I saw that is his more natural game and looking forward its going to be a handy attribute.TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 8:49 pmI like him too but I wouldn't call him progressive in the slightest, from the little I've seen of him in midfield so far.LittleMate wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 8:28 pm Jordan Brown turned up a decent player. Re: Jordan Brown
All I remember from his and Colemans first few games is how non-existent and completely interchangeable they were, hence some wag coming up with the Colebrown moniker for either/both of them.
I can see him making a decent career at L1 as a steady, solid, unexciting full back. Somewhat like Hunt on the other flank. I can't see him going on to be a L1/Championship midfielder like Hector.

Had an absolute cracking game at Stockport - has thoroughly deserved his starting place since.
Re: Jordan Brown
I agree that he has had a generally good season so far, but I would rate him that much. I thought he had a shocker against Sutton on Saturday. His passing was pants. He's improved but has some way to go to be Championship level, whereas Smyth is already there.

Re: Jordan Brown
Jordan Brown signed for LOFC on 24/1/22.
His first game for LOFC was on 25/1/22, where he started against Newport in a 0-1 home defeat.
He then started the next game away at Mansfield alongside Coleman in midfield, which we also lost, 2-0 (Hector replaced him as sub).
He was absolutely signed as first choice midfielder.
