Ready for Rishi?

Bojo has pulled out even though he definitely had enough backers.

The fact that he had one or more backers is a national disgrace.

Shame he didn’t pull out more often - there’d be less mother’s chasing him for paternity payments

He's made a mug of anyone who came out to publicly back him. Which is what they deserved.

Boris' boyfriend Sir Christopher ( Upskirting ) Chope was on Today Radio 4; being given a hard time by Nick Robinson. Chope in sulk mode & now wants a General Election. He & his Neo-Fascist friends reckon they gonna give Rishi a hard time!

Boris pulling out is tactical. As much as I hate him, he is a master at being three moves ahead. Whether it’s a deal with sunak on a position in government or whipping up yet more divides so that he replaces rishi after the next GE, he’ll be back

Disagree. He's been planning this since being mayor. Angled brexit to destabilise things and give himself an 'in'. Backed Truss knowing (and probably contributing to) her failing. He'll know already what will happen to Rishi. Power at all expense.

He’s playing 4D chess - back in spring 2019 he planned to usurp May, call a general election, win a massive victory, mishandle a global pandemic very badly, break his own rules, come out in support of a sex pest so he’d have to resign, duly resign, put Truss in place knowing she’d fail so that he could then say he wants his old job back, then the clever bit - have not enough support, so that someone else gets in, destabilises things then get gets back in. Sounds like a great plan.

You lot honestly think he didn't plan his ascent before Brexit and hasn't been planning his return since the day he was forced to resign?

He's fundamentally a creepy thicko, which is why he failed when he got in power. But since when has been incompetent at the job stopped people being successful. He'll be back.

But yeah, Boris isn't known to be cunning or backstabbing.

So now we have a Man who broke lockdown rules , was fined & whose wife had some dodgy tax dealings in charge . Ive lost count of the number of pms & chancillors over the last 5-6 years .

I don't think he's a great planner or strategist but he's got an incredibly thick hide and can smell an opportunity when it presents itself. There was no downside to him for having another run at being leader this last week, with an obvious upshot in showing he wants back in. This will allow him to be a contender next time around.

Sunak is obviously a smarter and more competent man, but he's still relatively green in terms of front line politics and I dunno if he'll have the political intelligence to turn around an absolute mess of a party in time for the next election. Him and Starmer are kind of oddly matched - dull, professionally accomplished, technocratic types. Have to hope that the electorate remember that it's Sunak's party that have torched the economy and political system of the country over the last decade and get rid of these pr*cks for at least as long as they've been in power.

Agree - but the sad fact is that he's probably the best of the bunch who wanted the job. The last turd to float in the cess-pit.

Its depressing that the only way the Tories could get in the most competent person for the job, but who has a brown face, was to avoid giving the members any vote at all.
