Re: Match Day Hospitality for Season Ticket Holders
If you dont like it then tell me how to run a club without a loss and why have you bought a season ticket aren't arguments against my point. I'm making observations about some of things i see happening. What I do is irrespective.
Also, you cant run a club without a loss. Or at least you cant unless you want to alienate all the fans.

Re: Match Day Hospitality for Season Ticket Holders
So you rely on philanthropic owners to stump up the shortfall. Why should we expect them to do it rather than do it ourselves?
I think there is a very limited supply of people who are genuinely interested to pump money into a club year after year, just because they love the club. Even they will have a limit to how much they can or want to put in. It's pretty much unsustainable in the long run and many clubs are in a mess because of it.

But surely you buying a increased price season ticket devalues your point doesn’t it you’ve become part of the machineApple Wumble wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 10:55 am If you dont like it then tell me how to run a club without a loss and why have you bought a season ticket aren't arguments against my point. It's obviously completely up to them how they fund the club.Real Al wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 11:04 am So you rely on philanthropic owners to stump up the shortfall. Why should we expect them to do it rather than do it ourselves?

That doesn't mean, as a fan, and someone who gives them a lot of money each year, that I cant express concerns over how they do that.

Re: Match Day Hospitality for Season Ticket Holders
I guess you could say i am part of the problem. But I'm lucky, lucky. At the moment I dont really have to worry about my season ticket money. But I know several people who haven't renewed this year, or are considering what games they can do because they are priced out. I also know several people who share my concerns about things like sponsors and where our commercial side has gone in recent years. Next year, I'll have a lot less money so will have to consider my options then.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 11:07 amBut surely you buying a increased price season ticket devalues your point doesn’t it you’ve become part of the machineApple Wumble wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 10:55 am If you dont like it then tell me how to run a club without a loss and why have you bought a season ticket aren't arguments against my point. As said above this deal used to be £25 and I think it was a three course meal. No way is it anything like decent value for £39.
No support from me this season. It’ll be full on SC for a couple of good value pints, Simons rolls and a chat with Timmo all for under a tenner !

I'm just saying that it's unsustainable to expect owners to stump up money hand over fist, buying all the top quality players we as fans want, while keeping all prices low and having no sponsors.

But thats sort of how it DOES work. Rich owners buy football clubs knowing what they are getting themselves into. There's no way Nigel and Kent bought this club and thought they wouldn't be pilling money in.

Re: Match Day Hospitality for Season Ticket Holders
Of course they understood that, but they will have limits. From all accounts the first couple of years have been far more expensive than they expected.
If they can keep it within manageable levels then I'm sure they'll be happy to keep going. If it's running at a couple of million or more then I imagine they'll be sweating.
I would be concerned if they were monetising the club for their own personal gain, but we all know that's not the case.

Here we go again, do you ever give up? Pricing people out???Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 7:17 pm Absolute joke but whatever, I've come to expect the club to be pricing a good section of our fans out of certain things.

Where the hell do you think money comes from to run the club. You don't have to take advantage of the hospitality deal if you begrudge spending over the odds for food but in a great place and atmosphere, Quite honestly, if enough people were prepared to pay £50 each for this, that would make sound commercial sense.
Clearly you don't run a business or have any idea of costs/overheads etc. I'm sure you'd be the first to complain if economies were made on the size of the first team. Get off you hobby horse and start supporting our club in anyway you can, beit with a season ticket, pint, pie or hospitality. Get real.

I don’t see what the problem is, if somebody wants to pay £50 for fairly average food then so be it.
I’ll spend my money in the Supporters Club.

I agree. My point is that some people enjoy that and now may be priced out. Effectively you’re creating a tiered way of supporting the club with certain price hikes and things like charging for a autographed photos.
But whatever I’m obviously in the minority. We’ll see if people see my way of thinking the more things go up.

Thanks Lucky, interesting to know. Seems odd considering season tickets are more expensive. Guess that’s maybe due to the early bird price.

The thing is if they can charge £50 per person and sell it out, then that makes sound business sense. I personally wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 7:25 pm I agree. My point is that some people enjoy that and now may be priced out. Quite frankly I wouldn’t touch any of the food in the ground because I consider it overpriced and not good quality for the money.
Burgermeal and a pint in Wetherspoons £7.

Re: Match Day Hospitality for Season Ticket Holders
Yes I suspect you are in the minority. With food and excellent beer at very reasonable prices in the supporters club, no one is pricing you out. All you have to do is make a choice, sit down meal with wine/ keg beer at over £30.00 or a roll and pint for around a fiver. Yes it may be a ‘tiered way of supporting the club’ but so what . Both venues create income for the club. Personally I prefer the supporters club but sometimes use the hospitality package. My choice, my money and Apple Ramble has exactly the same choice, as does every single supporter of our club.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 7:25 pm I agree. One small point, unlike the hospitality package you have to pay to be a member of the supporters club or if not you get charged £1.00 per match. That’s £23 a season, is that also pricing people out? Don’t think local pubs make any charge for admission.

Re: Match Day Hospitality for Season Ticket Holders
I like the Supporters Club but the only problem is that it gets very crowded and it’s not comfortable to stand and have a pint and a roll. I’d like to see the ‘Fan Zone’ operating more often, at least if the weather allows. There is more space in the area just outside the score centre and with some live music the atmosphere is good.Winchesterfan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 10:08 pmYes I suspect you are in the minority. I’d rather give my pre-match money to the club or the SC but it’s got to be reasonably comfortable in my opinion.
We usually go for a pre-match pint in the Legends Lounge anyway which is quite comfortable and it’s my way of supporting the club a bit more.

Unfortunately missing the point again. Regardless of if you or I can afford it. Going from 25 quid to 39 for a pre match meal will 100% mean some people now won’t be able to afford it. Now obviously in some people’s opinion, that’s fine. In my opinion it’s not.Winchesterfan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 10:08 pmYes I suspect you are in the minority. Putting it in a way you may understand.what if next week the SC announced that admission was now a fiver, the roll and a pint now costs you 15 quid. You may well say ‘well,’that’s absolutely fine, the money goes to a good place’ but it could also potentially price you out and you’d have to eat at home, meaning that a part of your match day experience that you obviously enjoy, is gone.
Look, I’m not saying the club should put on a soup kitchen for free, or even that it isn’t worth the money (the food could be glorious), but over the last year, for a lot of people, supporting Orient has become a lot more expensive and commercial. Again, you might be happy with that but for me, it’s a worrying trend.

Re: Match Day Hospitality for Season Ticket Holders
Suggest you go elsewhere to make your pathetic comments. We have our club back, run by brilliant owners, a choice of seat prices, where to eat, where to drink, where to sit. Do you really want to return to no choice for any of the above and stand on terraces with people caged behind fences, peeing over your leg.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 7:27 amUnfortunately missing the point again. You clearly have missed my point as many times as you say you haven’t mate.
Never said any of the above but keep deflecting because you don’t understand what im saying. Maybe it’s too nuanced for you. I even tried to put in a sc roll for you to get it.
Open to suggestions over where to discuss my opinions about the club; if only there was a leyton Orient messageboard out there.

Still don’t know where this £25 dinner is
It was £35 last season and the season before. one quick look on google will confirm it
They have been a couple of games where they have been discounted to £25 fa trophy games etc
Could be any amount of reasons for the hike better produce of food extra waiting/chef staff etc etc
