Re: RIP a tribute
Fancy joining a 4mile queue (currently) to shuffle along really slowly for god knows how long, just to see a closed box with a flag draped over it. Like some Squid Games torture. We have some strange people in this country…

And there's a lot of tourists in that queue. Most of the brits that I've seen interviewed so far come across as unhinged, lacking perspective and emotionally unstable.

Re: RIP a tribute
That is a crap poll. Firstly All adds up to 101%. Secondly the retirement age is 66 so a better cut off would be 66 and over. Thirdly, Having a day off or watching the funeral isn't a choice. It should be along the lines of "are you having a day off" and then "what will you do on your day off".
But who really cares?

Re: RIP a tribute
The queue to see HM's coffin & Crown, been temporarily closed as it is too long. I think that the fact they are rolling out a few Big Gun Royals to stand vigil has something to do with this. Also lot of whingeing in Houses of Parliament MP's & Lords & various other Top Knobs are allowed to skip queueing with 4 guests, Angela Rayner has taken advantage of this; but, cleaners, messengers & lesser mortals at Parliament have been denied this perk.
Max has been quiet, has he been queueing? I notice he was conspicuous by his absence from this Board last Sunday when they moved HM's cadaver through Jock Land.

There were 401,000 attended the Silverstone Grand prix weekend, so it seems we should extrapolate that out to "everyone in the UK is besotted by Formula one, therefore we have to close the whole country for the British GP"

It always amazes me that politicians of all persuasions cannot see the hypocrisy in their actions.Friend or faux wrote: ↑Fri Sep 16, 2022 12:03 pm The queue to see HM's coffin & Crown, been temporarily closed as it is too long. Rayner for example rails against the rich getting perks etc, then uses her position to get a perk denied to others. Its a bit like the Union bosses condemning their own employees for holding the Union to ransom for demanding a fair pay deal, whilst said union leaders are condemning other employers for not offering fair pay rises

It's strange that people have focused on Angela Rayner, a working class female left(ish) politician, yet have ignored all the other MPs that have done exactly the same....

I says, I just more or less copying or paraphrasing BBC news & me having a pop at our resident Marxist. I see it strange that strange named TRUMP whatever, doesn't worry about the poor real working classes at the Mother of Parliaments who are denied a spot of queue jumping ( no perks for them ). Angela Rayner merely taking advantage of her years of defending the workers and probably using her perks so that close family members can get a glimpse of The Imperial State Crown, instead of forking out for a trip to the Tower to see this gorgeous jewel. It is obvious that the untimely death of our good Monarch is deeply affecting some people. Perhaps they should indulge themselves with a few hours of live streaming of our loyal subjects paying homage to the late Queen.

Re: RIP a tribute
Best example of paying respects was the family from Manchester who brought the ashes of their dead mum to see Lizabet of Hanover lying in state.

Re: RIP a tribute
You could have had the same conclusions back in 1977 during the Silver Jubilee young people then into punk music were not that interested in the Royal family, now those young people are pension age or close to it.
Re: RIP a tribute
In 1977 at my primary school I was asked to be involved in Jubilee Stuff, said no thanks and teacher was so annoyed she called my mum and dad up the school
