Mourdant was the one that spooked the Labour leadership most. Truss becoming pm would be a real watershed moment in the country's decline into fantasy, absurdity and irrelevance. I imagine it's because they're hardwired committed to meritocracy within in the party but it's quite interesting, to me at least.
