She fought the big "C" for nigh on 30 years. Raised squillions for research into it. But remembered by most for "those black trousers".

Lamont Dozier - of Motown songwriting trio Holland, Dozier & Holland. So many hits did they write and so much good music to dance to (when I could still dance). Motown, the best record label ever IMO.

The world became a better place thanks to Gorbachev, and from what I’ve learned from obituaries he was dismayed by what had gone on in Russia in recent years and feared the chance of nuclear conflict had increased as a result. R.I.P.
