Re: Squad Size League 2
Looking at the squad i see it like this.
Defence (inc GK) competetive with some potential for div 2. If Happe or Marv were sold i think they may believe Ogie is ready to step in.
Midfield. Workmanlike with no one that really takes a game by the scruff of the neck, a winner.
IN THE HOLE: JMD this lad has quality if he shows it straight away we should offer him a new contract immediately because he could be gone by the end of season.
Strikers: lacking a top scoring forward to supplement the two new signings who look promising. Five forwards is right but being loyal as against showing positive ambition is a big mistake.
At this point i think we need the defence to survive, JMD to be a quality No10 and one or both strikers to hit double figures. Mid to bottom half with the current squad would be a successful season. It's not the size of the squad it's the quality.

Dont think we are going to start with a
main 2 & backup 2 ,
Reckon there going to change it as is necessary
regardless of anyone else coming in.
If we can get 10 goals per striker thats 40 & in theory should be decent enough.

Whilst I think we definitely need a battler in the centre of the park and a potential 3rd starter up front, there's an argument to be made for leaving room for your younger players *if* the club thinks they're up to it. Judd, Marvin and JMD have the potential to improve further. No idea how good the untested kids are, the two Cypriot kids and Ogie have been hyped up plenty though.

Re: Squad Size League 2
We don't know what formation we will play yet, but all we are really lacking is that elusive combatative midfielder we crave but the club don't really seem to want. It's a big if, but Wilkinson and Angol could have loads of goals with them and have as many question marks, maybe less, then Bonne and Koroma would at this level.
I'm not seeing the gaps that other people are. I suppose if we go 442 another winger would be good, but not sure we will be doing that as JMD behind our strikers could be lethal.
Alabi is 4th and potentially 5th choice striker based on what we have already, so I'm not getting my knickers in a twist about him staying on.

So 10 goals for 5 strikers
Plus 25 + from defence & midfield.
75 goals should see us in amongst the buisness end.

But Harold is 3rd choice. That’s more of an issue.Buddy Manucci wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 6:18 pm We don't know what formation we will play yet, but all we are really lacking is that elusive combatative midfielder we crave but the club don't really seem to want. I like the look of the new front 2 but we’re going to need them to start every single game, which is just unrealistic and unfair on them. We need a decent 3rd striker to possibly challenge them and to adequately fill in when suspensions or injuries kick in, not just someone who can come on for 15 minute cameos.

Re: Squad Size League 2
I quite like him as third choice. We also have the option of not playing 2 strikers at the same time and changing formation, Brophy and JMD behind 1 striker for instance.CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 8:08 pmBut Harold is 3rd choice. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to bring in another striker who is better then at least our current third choice, but at this point I don't think it's as crucial as a central midfielder (which I don't think will be happening but want to be wrong).
