Other than the obvious Germany, be interesting to see which EU countries bottle it and see Russian oil/gas as the lesser evil compared to blackouts and impoverishment of their electorate

I think most of them have been bracing for the Russian threat for years and know that their very survival is at stake. The Baltic states are steadfast for now. Visegrád Group should be firm, however they do have Hungary to contend with. Romania knows that it is probably next after Ukraine, so is in talks with Bulgaria and Turkey right now to ensure they are prepared.

The area of concern in Europe, as ever, is the Balkans. Worst case scenario is that the region collapses into civil war along with Germany breaking from the NATO alliance. Should that happen, I can also see both Hungary and Turkey finding the temptation to capitalise on the chaos with territorial grabs too much to resist.

Too as in also. FFS! I go away for a few weeks and on my return find your grammar to have deteriorated even further. To be fair though I did actually understand your post which is a nice change. Stay cool.

They've blamed Ukraine for it(publishing a curious high level of detail already), this'll justify some new horrible attack.

Russia has a history of ‘false flag’ attacks internally. The 1999 apartment bombings in Buyansk, Moscow and Volgosonsk which killed more than 300 and triggered the second Chechen war was an example. Putin was Prime Minister at the time and his handling of it boosted his popularity.

The Moscow Theatre siege of 2002 which lead to the death of about 170 people was almost certainly a Putin / FSB false flag operation, but one that went spectacularly wrong.

Some on here have read Catherine Belton’s book do I refer you to that.

Russian media is really hamming it up. I've seen some clips from the funeral ceremony today. Definitely seems to be aimed at whipping up nationalistic sentiment and yet another step towards full mobilisation.
